Weapons used by the Grey Knights

Okay, I know the standard stuff, Halberds, swords, and less often maces and hammers. All of those are used by the Grey Knights. What about stuff like lightning claws? I guess my real question is would Nemesis Force Claws be in-character for Grey Knights? I've been thinking about it and the Grey Knights are supposed to be the epitomous Shinning Knights, the warriors who stand against the darkness and devil himself. Swords and Halberds fit with that theme.

But then I think about claws and I think of dangerous creatures, images of Grendel and terrible beasts. Even thinking along the lines of Wolverine, even he's a bit of a beast and defiantly not fitting with the whole "Shinning knight" idea. So, yeah. What do you all think? Would claws work for Grey Knights? Yah or Nay?

Unfortunately, I think most Grey Knights can only use certain weapons, as they view most other weaponry as 'lesser' or 'inferior' to their own. Force Nemesis Claws, on the other hand, sound kinda cool, but I'm not sure how you'd pull it off in the codex rules. Perhaps master-crafting the force nemesis weapon? Digital Weapons?
NFW's come in all shapes and sizes.

nemisis force hocky stick anyone?

One of the guys at the local hobby center did a sports themed assault squad once. The Serg had a Power-bat. Even painted on the Nerf logo too.

In the Grey Knights Omnibus, Chaplain Durendin had twin lightning claws. No option for them currently but I'm guessing they'd be NFWs that gave an extra attack and re-rolled to wound. A bit too overpowered IMO especially on a chaplian who'd re-roll to hit too lol.
I think that fluff wise its up to the individual GK to choose what weapon they want to carry. Many choose swords and halberds, but some choose other weapons. As far as in the came, I think that as long as you make it clear that the four PAGK in your squad are using nemesis force weapons in the form of claws, then your opponent will understand that your not running a bunch of lightning claws.

I do not look forward to the day when a Space Marine comes at me with a nerfbat.

... My Grey Knights do not need any nerfing thank you very much.

Lol -7eAL-.... Lol....

Personally I begrudge the man who ever thought of "Nemesis Force Claws". It just sits wrong with my sense of the Grey Knights...

(But then again so does the chaplain. But I'm not opening that can of rippers tonight.)

hols on a second, =D= why does the idea of Nem Force Claws not sit with you? I laid out my reasons in the original post, but those aside this is the reason I started this thread.

BTW: I'm checking out the Inq. Project right now.

Doesn't it say in the codex that as long as the material used to make the weapon is psychically active, an NFW can be made into any weapon shape? My GM conversion made from Rex has a single lightning claw, that will just be a claw-shaped NFW with no extra special rules.

Rules wise, the norce nemesis weapon is labled as a 'weapon' not as a 'sword ro halbard'. So by strict RAW and combat weapon can be made into a force nemesis weapon based on the weilders personal tastes in armament.

After all with the odds already stacked so highly against GK's their chapter masters and chapter artificers are likely to play to the individual troopers strengths... So if the trooper perferes to use a lightning claw, then he gets a lightning claw.... if he prefers to use a hockey stick... then he gets a hockey stick...
