Space-Hulk Librarian - Deathwatch style...

This is what I have so far. Not very Deathwatch-y yet, but his right shoulder pad will be getting a sculpted =I= symbol, and the left will be in the colours of the Blood Angels, or a successor chapter. The chest eagle and Librarian iconography will be gold, with the numerous BA blood drops being attempted using a red gem technique.

I'm a little stuck on the robes at this stage. I want to keep the blue armour for the torso and hands, so keeping it blue is a no-no. So far, I'm thinking either a darker, purple colour, or a complete change and change it to bleached bone.

What do you think?

Well, with only one reply (thanks, Davidus), let's just try purple and see what happens. I agree with Davidus that red would help reinforce his ties to the BA, but I think the red looks more stunning and/or eye catching on just the one shoulder.

So far, the only finished parts are the black armour and the non-metalic parts of the axe-heads. The main things I want advice on are whether the tabard looks like a distinct enough colour from the armour (it's supposed to be purple, but being colour blind really doesn't help), and whether or not to remove the little 'wing and blood drop' icon from the top of the book.

So, what do you think so far?

the tabard as is blends in to much looking more blue then purple. maybe bone or even yellow would work better as its a libby and most of them are blue and yellow as is. so far other wise it looks good and leave the blood drop and wing if its a blood angel or successor other wise remove it

I don't think I've seen much yellow on Librarians, Nephren-ka, and yellow might make the model a little too 'primary coloured' and unsubtle. Several people have suggested bone though, so it's my backup in case the 'not quite purple' really doesn't work.

I had a little time yesterday, so I had a go at a gem effect for the blood drops. I think most of them have come out well, but it is my first time using the technique. As well as the gem-drops, I've given the tabard a light wash with Baal Red, and put yet another coat of red on the shoulder pad. I don't know why, but my Blood Red seems to have worse coverage than white! :cuss

Next up should be the rest of the force weapon, and all those little bits of paper...
