So nothing as fancy as you might be used to from me when it comes to conversions, but i wanna see, what and how much i can do with the standard stuff. And of course how much time is needed for a tourney army, painted up to a competitve level. I started last week with buying stuff, and thats even not doen yet, and decided to go with all arms magentised. I also megantised the storm bolters, to be able to unplug the magazine, and plug in kombiwaepons as heck all kind. I'm starting on a black basecoat, and then paint up the mini using the gw blue-grey tones: Fenris grey, shadow grey and sw grey. Then i wash the whole thing with devlan mud. Thats it. Because of the mud, the blueish tone is transformed to a clear and darker grey. I am not a fan of the combi weapons, they look a bit "tacked on" Well in fact you are right. But it saves me time and ressources, as there are not really many shoulder pads and arms in the sprues, so that i could afford to do it another way. I kinda feel that Logan's waist looks kinda funny and might need some torso repositioning. Brother Loring Posted November 24, 2009 Share Posted November 24, 2009 The most part of me hopes you make it because your miniatures are so amazingly painted, especially for the speed at which you paint them. But the other part of me doesn't because it frustrates me so much that you can get such quality so quickly, whereas it takes me ages to paint ages to paint a table-top quality miniature!
