Logan grimnar, Prefered enemy and heavy flamers.

So i just ran into something that made me wonder, so say you make a guardwing army using a squad of terminator armored wolfguards with logan in a land raider and Powerarmored wolfguards in rhinos, then to keep since you can you give the terminator squads multiple heavy flamers.

 

Now first of does logan grimnars prefered enemy work at range?

 

If it does do you get to reroll wounds with your flamers?

 

Now this might sound strange because prefered enemy is reroll to hit, but so is twinlinked, and when you twinlink a flamer of any kind you get reroll to wound.

 

And when i think about it, you really are bending the rules but is it possible?

preferred enemy only applies to attacks made in close combat
