Hey guys, i'm painting a new model,

whose progress will be detailed in this thread

the only thing, before I break out the paints and start posting pics, I have a quick question for you about priming.

Priming white.

I've had bad experiences with skull white primer in the past, and I'm not too keen about buying a whole spray can.

I have skull white paint, how well do you reckon it'll work as a primer for metal, if applied in multiple thinned down coats.

time is not an issue, however expense is.

alternatively, any suggestions?

it works 'ok' but not as effectively as white primer. Provided its shaken well enough, at the right distance and at the right temperature, its usually fine, I've had one duff can in,... many.

I would say, get hold of a couple of corks, or anything 'model' sized, spray them, and see how they dry, or, try a different manufactorers spray.

a sort of a testbed thing.

just trying out colours on a head.

ignore anything that isnt painted white-boneish.

a combination.

I looked at some blown up photos on the computer to aid with proportions, as well as drawing from real life.

the very first one top left, was traced.

the bottom two and the one in blue were from looking at the model, the photo on the computer, and the proportion piece in the top left corner. :P
