Competativeness of Wolf Cavalry list

If there are gunlines with expendable units in the for or with countercharge units behind maybe it's the build which is wrong. I list which removes ablative units at range which then follows up with the heavy assault of cav and the consolodation of mech grey hunters would seem effective on paper.

Nova, would you care to post a typical army list that you run? I would like to see how you put some of these theories in play or at least see what kind of force you are using to do this. I think it would better help us understand the shortcomings of the cav lists. Thanks.

at the moment, i usually do a fun BT army and whip out the competitive one if there is a jerk or good player about. but at the moment i am going for gaurd. which is currently.

1x CCS

3x plasma gun

1x standard

1x MoO

1x Carapace armour

1x chimera

1x marbo

2x PCS with melta guns and chimera

4x infantry squads with autocannon each.

2x SWS with flamers

2x vendetta

2x Demolisher russes

all chimeras have heavy flamers and multi-lasers. demolishers have heavy flamers. SWS in vendettas

1500 points.

I am tight on money, stupidly tight. So i am borrowing a mates guard and my only army has been templars and i have borrowed a mates SW, as he hasn't had the time to play for a few months.

thanks

I was thinking of which sort of list you would be considering with wolves/cav. If that is your all comers list how does it counter a wolf charge backed by countercharging rhinos of GH's with long fangs taking out blocking targets and wolfscouts/drop pods popping things from behind

nice looking list btw
