We got into a big thread about this over on the RelicNews Forums. As of right now its only a rumor with absolutely nothing to substantiate it. Don't believe anything until you see an official announcement.

Within a certain limited time frame, at least. Whether it's true or not, chances are it will eventually happen. They can't pull the squats trick on us now since references to the Inquisition are everywhere now, and somehow the Grey Knights have been referenced in the Chaos Daemons book that they always wanted to have but never got around to, and they're selling Deathwatch shoulder pads and bundling them into upgrade kits, and there is a certain logical value in playing on the interests of RPG players from Dark Heresy and RTS players of Dawn of War...

The real concern here is how long it will take, because in the grim darkness of the far future, we won't be around to play.

Unless we become immortal Daemon Princes.

Not everything I've read on the BOLS turned out to be true, but didn't we know they were coming anyway? As 7eAL said it was just a matter of when - or rather how far back in the pecking order they'd be.

Somehow I doubt we'll see one in 2010 though, seems too optimistic especially if "work started" is true.

Harry on Warseer (some sort of GW "insider") says:

"Also The 18 months thing isn't an exact science. Projects start about 2 years out with the big ideas and to get the plastics started which have an 18 month lead time. But sometimes, if they have some stuff already done, stashed away or the army does not need that much stuff and it is a small release then it can be quicker other times if the models need a lot of work and it is a big release it will be longer ... like the Dark Eldar.

..........

So now ask yourself about the Sisters and Grey Knights .... currently all metal armies and thus needing a lot of plastic .... Yes, work is started but I am not sure we can realistically hope to see them next year. 2011 is probably more likely but I don't think it will be as long as 2012 either."

If work was started this summer, for example, that would put the codex at mid-late 2011, which sounds about right considering other releases.

Add four to six months for realistic anticipation of possible delays and otherwise unexpected issues, we end up with 2012. Somehow I knew that the Inquisition codex would mean the end of the world ...

Yes both forces are primarily metal armies.

However both armies don't actually need that many sprues.

DH

Really only need plastic Grey Knights

Maybe Terminators.

The plastics for these should be simple due to existing space marine ranges.

WH

Just need a basic BSS sprue. Put some weapon options on the sprue and it can be used to build most of the units.

That being said, I don't care if either of the armies stays as all metal.

Add to this that Harry has also stated or strongly hinted that Phil Kelly took over the grey knights codex after finishing Space Wolves. Though it is also "known" in this world of rumors, that he is working on Dark Eldar, so I'm not sure how it will all fit together.

Eltnot is right, it wouldn't require too much to get the majority of the 'hunter armies in plastic. Too much to hope for to get Space Marine levels (eg BSS, Dom/Rets, Canoness and Seras) though. Even if it's just standard Sisters and special/heavy weapons that'd I'd be jumping for joy (not too energetically though, in case I might damage the huge bundle of Sisters I just bought).

Can't get enough of that wonderful plastic! All relative though as GW have their schedules and what not - most important thing is we get a new codex. My bet would still be 2011 or 2012 as 7eAL suspects once we have the usual blunders and mismanagement (mandatory in British companies, in case you didn't know).
