Leonaides
Ok, having tried searchy, and snooping thru the official rules forum and drawn a blank, I was kinda hoping some of you gents could help. I'm having trouble getting my head around the WG and kill points. In your new codex FAQ it says that if a WG unit is totally split up, then since the unit no longer exists that there are no KP's to be gained for it. But how does this work if ther unit is NOT totally split up. For example: 7 WG. 4 in term armour following the Wolf Lord, 1 with a BC pack 1 with a GH pack and 1 with some Long Fangs. How many KP's are available amongst theose units? is it 2 for the WL and WG bodyguard (1 IC and 1 Squad), with 1 for each of the BC's GH's and LF's or 2 for the WL and WG bodyguard, and 2 for each of the other 2 squads. If I were to kill every BC in that pack, would I get the KP for it, even if the WG who was leading it is still alive? If I were to kill the 3 separated WG's but tno the packs they wer with, would I get 3 KP's (assuming every element that was split from the original pack is worth a KP - similar to KP's gained for combat-squadded Tactical marines)? There's nothing riding on this question yet - as the guy I play who's using SW's in a campaign is getting his tail pinned to the door every game so far, but there is the potential that it may become relevant. And I'd prefer to have it sorted out early rather than have arguements when it is important... Any sugestions? References for Rules? Ullr Direfang
ok, if a wolf guard joins a unit, it becomes a member of that unit. meaning that in you example you would have: 1 Wolf Lord - 1 kill point 1 pack of 4 Wolf Guard - 1 kill point 1 Blood Claw pack with attached Wolf Guard - 1 kill point 1 Grey Hunter pack with attached Wolf Guard - 1 kill point 1 long fang pack with attached Wolf Guard - 1 kill point if you happen to kill all the blood claws in the blood claw pack the wolf guard still counts as a member of the blood claw pack. or at least that is how i read it. EDIT: Oh and what FAQ were you referring to? the one here on B&C? i didn't see one on the GW website yet. Grey Mage
Yeah, the one here stickied at the top of the SW forum... Yeah, odenhaller seems nice enough, and hes dutifully chronicled the debates over rules.... but he wont post up a solitairy answer if even one person posts a disenting opinion.... and that can lead to alot of confusion on things where it should be pretty cut and dry. Long story short- a Pack of Wolfgaurd counts as a unit of its own when its on the table and when its killed. A single Wolf Gaurd in a squad of something else counts as its seargent. Leonaides
Thanks... Now I can batter him into submission safe in the knowledge that the logic engines of the Fang agree with me... (sorry, but he's gotta be house-trained some way!) Grey Mage
BTW- if any codex players object, ask them if Telion should give a KP? Or where it shows that an upgrade character other than an HQ with retinue gives up a seperate KP?
