stinkenheim
well they are beasts like hormagaunts so you could get away with a 25mm round base, but if your using fantsay wolves/chaos hounds they would look very cramped. i'd say 40mm (its what im going to use) or cavalry/bike bases. its your choice really Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/185514-fenrisian-wolf-base-size/#findComment-2193610 Share on other sites
the jeske
no offcial base size for wolfs , becasuse there are no official sw wolf models . so techniclly you can play with anything you want ,but I would ask around before you start puting them on dread bases . different tournament sceens do this in a different way. the jeske
there are no official wolf models for sw. only thing you have that is close is either scratch build [no official base] ones and fantasy wolfs [closest thing to being legal is using the official GW cavalery base supplied with them]. I think you missed the base madness with MC in 4th ed , with slim but long bases that let them do a lot of strange things. Durfast Spiritwolf
My normal wolves were on cavalry bases but I'm now moving across to the new(ish) bike bases Regards, Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/185514-fenrisian-wolf-base-size/#findComment-2194024 Share on other sites
Lord Scythican
I made mine using 40mm bases. Check them out: http://i462.photobucket.com/albums/qq346/lord_scythican/fenrisianwolves1.jpg http://i462.photobucket.com/albums/qq346/lord_scythican/fenrisianwolves2.jpg I made them from some horror clix dire wolf. Here is a picture of what they used to look like: http://i462.photobucket.com/albums/qq346/lord_scythican/OhNoes1.jpg Here is a pic to show them in scale to some other miniatures: http://i462.photobucket.com/albums/qq346/lord_scythican/OhNoes.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/185514-fenrisian-wolf-base-size/#findComment-2194038 Share on other sites
The Fenrisian
I bought 2 boxes of the plastic Chaos Hounds after seeing some nice conversions using them. I plan on just using the cavalry bases provided in that box, they seem fair. Besides, I plan to have 20 of them and I'm not shelling out another 15 quid or so on bike bases for the benefit of whining opposition :D. Now I just need to track down Goblin Wolf tails to do my conversions.....
