So how doooooo you objective sit? razorbacks and GH? rhinos with GH and a rune priest? or long fangs with wolf guard and logan leading a charge?

How effective are you objective sitting units?

Screw objectives. Kill everything. Auto-win. Next game. (My preferences are... esoteric.)

Thirds for me! I feel that sitting there on the objective means that you are giving your opponent the inititive to take the game away from you. He cannot do that if he does not have any troops. Besides that is more in the flavor of the history of our chapter. We might be more reckless about it and take more casualties but we do it with style and glory!

I think it'll depend heavily on my opponent and his army, the objectives, and the terrain.

There are times it is advantageous to pressure my opponent, and there are times it is better to sit back and force him to move. My entire army is mobile so that I can do either well, without worrying about having to take objectives early on.

what if you have a bad game? or the enemy has fire more firepower than you? and you have an objective right near your deployment zone and having an objective sitting squad there could either win you the game or draw. This applies for all gamers wiht lists that are average to GT competitive.

If you play for fluff, then there is no way that you would want that. i mean who would want to be on the sidelines when you have short ranged weapons? cos i sure hell wouldn't!

very expensive tactic. didn't see that coming. how many GH sit behind him? What if someone deepstrikes behind the dread and kills the GH first in an objective game? and what if your opponent knows what your doing and chooses not to kill him?

Someone is very curious...

That is a good thing, learning from others is encouraged, even amongst the strong-headed Wolves!

I don't very often tbh, i find it too hard to sit something on an objective, unless in capture and control, where you need to sit on your own objective :S

Unless in a Land Raider, there not safe enough i don't think, i don't bother with objectives really till turn 4, i think about it before, and if i kill something near an objective, will probably stay there, but, other than that, i try a rush to objectives, or try and kill the enemy

however, whatever you use out of those three troops choices. one of them won't be able to do much for the entire game and they will be easy pickings from experience. as they objective sit. or you place an over expensive squad there in a rhino.

err... I don't?

in a 1000 points, I'm often scrambling back to my own objective after I've mostly annihilated the opposition.

in 1500 points, I'll have a cheap 5 man Grey Hunter squad whose job is to sit there. They might be accompanied by a dreadnought, depending on if the enemy has outflanking or not.
