Ripper.McGuirl
Hey there everyone. I've recently been given a rather large (~3000 pts) Sister's army. A lot of it is pretty much ready to rock, since the models are almost all metal. However, most of the 10-ish seraphim are missing their jump packs, and I don't have any of the cool windows for the rhinos or immolator. Do you guys know any good way to track down metal bits? I was hoping there is a good ebay store somewhere that I don't know about. I don't really want to have to trade for them and go the bartertown route and whatever, I'd rather just buy em and be done with it....but it doesn't seem like that's going to happen with these particular bitz. Sister Rosette Soulknyt
Not sure if GW sell just jump packs and the clear windows but i wish they would. I think looking around ebay or posting your needs on a few forums may help. heretic??ME??
Ebay all the way, and it will probably end up that you will just buy a whole seraphim when you see the prices on the jumpacks/back packs. Just got an 8 girl sisters squad out of a charity shop for a 5 pound but no back packs but in perfect condition. morcus
Its a real shame that GW don't offer every single component and spru individually anymore. silversmith82
Second the fact that you're probably just going to have to buy new seraphim... which is really crappy but ever since GW murder/death/killed the bitz system, converting stuff and getting replacement parts has gotten way harder. Not sure what their reasoning was behind getting rid of it but whoever's idea it was should be fired, then brought to a GT to have rotten produce thrown at them. Ripper.McGuirl
My assumption is just that they didn't feel like having that much metal on hand at any given time, didn't feel like paying the trolls to wander around and pull the bitz, were tired of bitz walking away, wanted to make room for something else, and/or wanted to charge more for the bitz. Â But you'd think that they'd offer things like the jump packs and sisters backpacks for sale, and not just a $9 tiny shrine from 12 years ago. Blckbuster
don;t they sell bitz via ship to store? if you have a GW store near you they may have a computer set up for ordering, I'm pretty sure they still do at the NYC store by me, but i cannot speak for any other location Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/185651-getting-replacement-bits/#findComment-2197001 Share on other sites
MuGGzy
When I built up a big pure SoB army a couple years back I had to do it little bits at a time, piece by piece via Ebay, Bartertown, and every 40K forum with a Buy/Sell/Trade forum. It took time but it ended up being way cheaper than retail, I was happily surprised at how, if you didn't mind getting 2-3 at a time, how many people have just a couple Sisters kicking around their bitz boxes. Eltnot
Because it was costing GW money, not making a profit. It was too large to easily control and as such, losses ensued. This is why they cut it off and brought it back in the current bits packs. This way GW can still offer bits and ensure they aren't left sitting with excess stock that just never shifts. It isn't as nice for the customer, but it's a heck of a lot better for GW. Â If you want bits, look at Ebay stores, there are plenty of sellers. Some sell the window bits along with the turret kit and can be purchased that way. Ripper.McGuirl
Yeah, there are no GW stores anywhere near me, it's always been independent retailers. I've seen a couple of the places that sell plastic bits on ebay, but it looks like it's really the long-scrounge for getting metal bits. - 7eAL -
You know what? Forget the jump packs, give your Seraphim real wings. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/185651-getting-replacement-bits/#findComment-2198386 Share on other sites
Ripper.McGuirl
Yeah, I'm looking at that as an option. So far, it'll be about $30 to outfit them all with wings...which kind of irks me. I'm keeping my eyes open for different sets of wings, but reaper seems to be cheapest from warstore at about $8 for 4.
