cathar the great
Thanks for posting those GK Termies, Dezartfox. I hadn't seen them before, and now I want some. I didn't know they made such dynamic models back then... Inquisitor Kravin
I can remember when those old style Grey Knight Terminators and Inquisitors were advertised in White Dwarf*. They are some of the most awesome looking Terminators**. Messanger *along with Mordheim warbands **all Terminator miniatures look awesome. Really? I thought that they were older than that. I would have put those at circa 1995-6 whilst Mordheim was probably about 1999. I have a lovely fully painted squad of assault marines that were the pride and joy of my 2nd ed Dark Angels - how can you tell they're 2nd ed - because every member of the squad has a powerfist! mannstein
Really? I thought that they were older than that. I would have put those at circa 1995-6 whilst Mordheim was probably about 1999. Earlier than that, iirc. More like 1990, they originally came out around the time the RT Realm of Chaos books were out. Messanger of Death
Once upon a time in a land far far away a Legendary Company advertised products from a diverse range including Warhammer 40K, Mordheim, Blood Bowl, Necromunda and many others. Alas those days are gone. Now in the grim dark future there is only war and glossy pages advertising the latest products*. Edit - according to Tim's website the Grey Knight mk 1 and mk 2 dates back to 1989. Messanger *not entirely true since sometimes Necrons et al. get advertised in White Dwarf Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/185724-the-museum/page/3/#findComment-2420864 Share on other sites
Dezartfox
Indeed, a LOT of the termies are from 1989, to coincide with the SH release also in that year  A little sad that I own ALL the terminator models from that era. Muskie
Most of my army is out of print, then there are my orks which are all out of print... I have lots of OOP Chaos and Space Marine models, that I've had or traded for, I'm still busting open old blisters every now and then. Most of them are painted, except the Khorne and Slaneesh ones which I was working on... http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4058/4425789099_df96b0145f.jpg That is probably my most recently painted OOP miniature. It is actually a Nurgle model maybe, but I painted it as just Chaos Undivided. Here are most of the Nurgle models GW has released as painted by me. Valkyrion
My first blister pack purchase was two lead grey knights in a single blister for £3. Are they £8 each now? lhg033
loving seeing these old minis - i started out in 2nd edition and have a load of older models somewhere in storage. ill try a dig them out some time. even have some of the old product range posters you used to get from ordering things. if i can ever find them i'll try and scan some in. feeling very nostalgic seeing that 2nd edition preditor and those chaos dreads. some of my first (and worst :S) painte models. medusa_ritchie
I have to say i like a lot of the old 2nd/ 3rd ed metal models as well so here are some pics. First some old school terminators. As someone has pointed out i think these came out round about '89. I remember seeing them for the first time in WD :) There's an old school terminator captain in there that is still one of my favourite models. http://i994.photobucket.com/albums/af61/medusa_ritchie/IMGP1816a.jpg And an old sergeant model. He originally had a power fist but someone had forecefully removed it from the model so i replaced it with an old plastic hand. Eryx_UK
I love the old models, especially those from the RT era. Brings back so many memories of great games back then. What I really miss though are the chaos marines with the mutations. Towards the end of RT there was a nice line of heavy weapon CSM all with mutations (flamer body and tentacles holding the heavy weapon, is one that I remember). Anyone got photos of those cool models? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/185724-the-museum/page/3/#findComment-2462328 Share on other sites
