Maccon
My brothers, I swore an Oath to create one of the named Lords of the Fang, and I shall not fail. My Wolf Lord is built, so I thought I'd throw a few images up here in the Fang. Now I said I would make a make a younger version of Logan Grimnar. Thats the company I play, but sometimes, I just don't have the points for the Old Wolf himself. So I thought about making a younger version of him, Logan when he was "just" one of the Lords of the Fang. What I was going for with the model was trying to show what Logan would become. I gave him a big axe, that seemed iconic, but he has not yet gained his future mighty weapon from a defeated minion of Chaos. I wanted to keep some semblance of the same hair, but shorted than on older Grimnar. To me what made Grimnar the Great Wolf was his cunning and his intelect. He's not just an amazing fighter, but a tactical genius. So let me set the scene for the idea I had with the model. Imagine Grimnar stepping up to the edge of a rise before a engagement. He looks out over the area seeing the battle that will be, how units will move, and what his forces must do. He leans on his blade, his mind deep in thought. His Wolf Guard stand silently a distance back, not wanting to disturb their Master. A cold breeze whips his cloak up around him. His brow is furrowed as the entire fight to come is enacted in his mind. Now take that...and put it into a model...I think I did a decent job. NOTE: I'm pretty new at conversions and greenstuff, the extent of my sculpting before this is gap filling, so this was a pretty big project for me, new ground. So I know parts of it aren't perfect (in hindsight I would have done the top green hand differnetly, but now I know.) So, all in all I'm pleased with the job and it was a learning experience. Having given the disclaimer I appreciate any C&C from my brothers. http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg246/Elennare1/WolfLordUnpainted1.jpg http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg246/Elennare1/WolfLordUnpaintedII.jpg Edited for Larger Pictures and Spelling Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/185751-wolf-lord-challange-update/ Share on other sites
krewl
A very nice pose indeed, it really captured what you wanted to have him look like, surveying the battlefield before an enagement. Any chance of a back picture as well, a good look at the cloak would be nice also as that is where most of the interesting greenstuffing is done.
