nurglespuss
stealers are also ridculously expensive. at 16pts base with a 5+ save they need extended carapace against marines which pushes them up to 19pts thats only 4 points more expensive than bloodclaw/grey hunter, and I know what I would tip to win in close combat, charge or no.... Which is why you riddle them with bolter rounds... and just hope they fail enough. stinkenheim
yes but bloodclaws have a 3+ save and more attacks than a stealer on the charge (equal number on successful counter attack). genestealers with a 4+ save only hava a 50/50 chance of survival against small arms fire and the majority of middle powered weaponry (assault cannons, hvy bolters, autocannons, heavy flamers etc) will ignore it. the only weapons that ignore bloodclaws armourare normally anti tank weapons. in a straight out fight yeah the stealers will probably win providing they get enough rending wounds, but the non rending wounds are less likely to hurt than the average bloodclaws attacks. the only thing stealers ahve going for them is a higher Ws and I (which they need to maximise hits and therefore rending wounds) and a higher leadership. the unit i normally take is 25pts a model, and for that they gain 3 profile attacks, a 4+ save and frag grenades. they have no transport options, no long range assault (leaping for instance) and a decent but not great save. i would rather take a 15 man bloodclaw squad with two flamers, power weapon and probably a wolf guard. it would liekly be cheaper and more devastating.
