Thanks guys for your feedback its much appreciated!

@Validar- yeh I wanted to do a different kind of blue as I totally agree about the baby blue! I dont think the flash really helped the stubble on his head to be honest it definitely looks less white in real life!

@Shaun- Again I dont think the flash has done the eyes any good but I do agree that they need work but for a 1st real attempt I dont think they are that bad! :P

@Cheesy- From a black undercoat

-Regal blue mixed with Black, then slowly add more regal blue until you have almost pure regal blue, then start adding white to it, once you have gone up a few highlights give it a brown wash, Yes I did say brown!!!! this wil tone it all down, then work back up adding white to regal blue until you have highlighted up to a tone you are happy with! Hope that helps!! ;)

Kind of dirty for a tank commander... And I feel that he needs a little red, what with the Techmarine backpack. A great piece otherwise. I like the stubble and the highlighting - and I agree on the blue tone. Ultrasmurfs really need to tone it down like you did.
IF you are happy with his eyes then it doesnt matter but you asked for C&C I think its because it looks like they are too big, If you try to put like a black line around them that may help. Also a note on the metal Ive seen that effect but I've never seen it done quite so well until now good stuff

Yeah, the eyes are to big and bright. He kinda looks like a psyker powering up some lightning.

erm... bad example, but you get my drift.

And maybe you should pick out the rivets, that would help the overall look a bit.

On another note; I absolutely love the weathering and the base. Very realistic. green on the brass, superb! And the pigment dusting on his boots are just right.

Do you have more ultras painted in the same style? if you do please link to them!

U need to dot the eyes with chaos black, leaving little white showing on the sides. Then wash with devlan mud around the eyes to tone them down a bit. Remember you cant see someones eyes from 20+ meters away. And thats why it really takes away from the realism when they are big and prominent on minis
