The gold looks like it has a lack of highlights to it. shining gold then mithril silver/Chainmail? And the chords on his chest just aren't very "believable" to me. I wanted white cords but with the blue shading in the recesses so I'll go back to that as well. But instead of using an actual blue in the recesses of the cords, I would suggest Space wolves grey. It's got a slight blue tint to it and may be just what you're looking for in that. Worked a bit on the cords on the chest but they seem more blue in these pics than real life. Basic work done on the head. In his other hand will be a Plasma Pistol from the Khorne Bezerker sprue. It looks suitably archaic for a captain I think. He was originally going to be a Blood Angel until I realised I didn't want puny scouts taking up prized elite spots in my army. So I decided he could become a Blood Raven. They seem to like scouts. Not finished yet (obviously otherwise he wouldn't be in the WiP), but I'm pretty pleased with how he's developing. ThirtySixNights Posted December 10, 2009 Share Posted December 10, 2009 Its interesting.. the way you have painted your ravens, they're strangely vibrant and colourful... especially the blue it contrasts greatly with the red, its.. well certainly something i haven't seen before but it looks surprisingly fitting. Vulkan454 the legs are just some chaos marine legs with the spiky bits shaved off. I was originally planning to paint some chaos renegades but I changed my mind after realising I wasn't a fan of the chaos codex. I know these guys aren't as posable as the plastic scouts but I still reckon they're a far better sculpt, even with their insanely chunky weapons. Anyone got any suggestions for the colour of his grenades? I used various bits for him, I added some Eldar stuff so that he looked like a collector of arcane items.
