Potentially fatal unit

Recommended Posts

Greetings Fellow Marines!

I was reading through your codex the other day when I noticed something... gross.

Under the weapon options for your TDA wolf guard I noticed that you are able to field wolf guard Terminators with an assault cannon AND storm shield. Have I been gluing too many metal models lately or is this really possible?

Will you field this if it is?

Many thanks

Nope, my assault cannon gets a wolf claw (mainly due to lack of power weapons, it's cheap, effective, and looks pretty sweet)

I was considering putting the two chainfists in my pack onto the heavy weapons troopers but with new wound allocation I feel that's too much.

yeah i take 4 or 5 terminators with thunder hammers and storm shields, one with cyclone missile launcher and they follow my wolf lord around like lost puppies

That's really expensive point wise, considering we pay 23pts more for TDA+TH+SS combo. But I guess if you like the look of them, why not. It's the same with me, everyone says I use too many bikes, but I like them too much. Just can't help myself.

I only use them in Apocalypse, in a Crusader.

Wolf Lord with Thunder hammer and Frost Blade Runic armour

Arjac

5 TH/SS terminators with two cyclones (four more wolf guard used as pack leaders)

One expensive unit but deals a lot of damage when it pops out.

Might throw Njal in there as well one day.

im under no illusions they are the most cost effective unit in my game, but i take them everytime. i also take land raider redeemer incase they need to move about quickly...

my lord comes to about 230pts (TDA, TH, SS, WTN, WTT, saga of the bear) so i figured he needed some hard guys to wander around beating peoples faces in...

i have however seen them receive the charge from 3 killa kans, and ork dread (with 4 close combat weapons) and a full unit of boys and emerge victorious several turns later. they also killed abadon and his unit of bodyguard in 1 turn, and they frequently fight against a unit of FNP power fist wielding nobs and their warboss so i need the thunder hammers to make the wounds count. the fit my plan and they don't die so im happy... now if only they were cheaper :)
