word bearers

having just seen the amazing new legion of the damned models, my first thought was wow!. But my second thought was how these could be turned to darker powers...

 

would the new models (with some filing of eagles) make decent word bearers?

They would be ok I guess. The Word Bearers are religious fanatics though and I usually see them with a lot of Templar bits or Dark Angel bits. Lots of robes and things to give them that religious zealot feel.

I think under the right paint scheme, they would look best as Night Lords.

Right, back on topic, I think all the bones and things are a little out of place for a Word Bearer. I mean, Word Bearers are supposed to be the devote, fanatical worshipers of chaos. As Ragnar said, robes would be more fitting. Although I can see them as horribly debased Zerks, or maybe even raptors....

Nope I'm still thinking Night Lords the more I look at them.

I would have to agree with the Night Lords feel in regards to the models. In fact I also like the idea of using some of them as Skull Champions with the right amount of conversion.
