aekold
I still think that a 10 WG with storm bolters and maybe a few powerfists makes for a deadly combination. The unit can lay down a nice amount of fire power, stay mobile and dish out some close sombat damage. jon23516
I am currently running Logan Grimnar and four squads of 8 Wolf Guard with storm bolters + 1 Wolf Guard Terminator Cyclone in a drop pod. (considering dropping ALL storm bolters and termie/cyclone for about 5 combi-meltas.) Logan drops with 5 multi-melta Long Fangs. Been podding in 3 dreadnoughts with TL Multi-melta. 8 pods, 2000 points, every unit has duality of anti-tank & anti-infantry. ------------------- side-topic: For the cost of 1 Powerfist, wouldn't it be better to give 4 WG melta bombs? Get tank-busting power without sacrificing Initiative? Also, in a perfect multi-target Assault, possible to assault 4 different vehicles? Grey Mage
Howre you getting twin linked multimeltas? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/186248-wolf-guard-army-with-logan/page/2/#findComment-2221933 Share on other sites
SamaNagol
All drop pod lists won't work against the new Tyranids. Nor do I imagine them to be remotely effective against tournament Chaos builds who have the firepower and means to remove each threat as it arrives. Freman Bloodglaive
Not a bad idea. 25 points for storm bolter, WS5 and S6. If you want storm bolters on Wolf Guard then it's probably best to make them terminators. 33 points with power weapon and storm bolter. That's only 3 points more than honour guard. You have the range, and if someone does get close you have the power weapons. jon23516
Howre you getting twin linked multimeltas? Uh, apparently by mis-reading GW's janking writing. Assumed "twin-linked heavy flamer or multi-melta" meant "twin-linked heavy flamer or twin-linked multi-melta" My bad. Thanks Grey Mage. Just this week I also realized I've been playing BS 2 drop pods since October. <eyeroll> Suck. Grey Mage
Its all good- Ive seen alot of people do that with the marine codex and ending up with "twin linked missile launchers". Niiai
You do not need to field them all with jump pakcs. Just take 3 with JP and power fist, and if the rest of the squad dies you can just jump off. It does not sound so good but it would be cool. :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/186248-wolf-guard-army-with-logan/page/2/#findComment-2225628 Share on other sites
