Titan87
If you bring allied inquisition forces, if you want to give them a transport, must you bring one with them, or can they just use one of from the base army? Does bringing a retinue violate the 0-1 hq limit? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/186273-allied-inquisition-questions/ Share on other sites
JamesI
The retinue and character are 1 unit. As for the transports, unless you are playing a dex with truly dedicated transports, they should be able to share transports. thade
If you buy a dedicated transport for the base army (e.g. a Rhino for a Tac Squad), the Inquisitor unit can't start the match embarked into it, but they can use it (embarking into it on Turn 1 for instance); they can also commandeer it mid-game. If you buy a non-dedicated transport for the base army (e.g. a Land Raider), the Inquisitor unit CAN start embarked into it. If the Inquisitor unit ally comes with it's own dedicated transport, *no other unit can use it*, whether it's another Inquisition allied unit or a base army unit, because of the way the Ordos Dedicated Transport rules work; they are "truly dedicated", in that only the unit you bought them for can use them. jeffersonian000
Thade is spot on with one exception: Witch Hunter dedicated transports can be shared just like any other dedicated transports, however, Daemonhunter dedicated transports are locked to just the unit to purchased it. Frosty the Pyro
I think (though I could be wrong) there are one or two other chapters that also still have truely dedicatated transports also so if one of those is base then you cant. But any ally counts for all intesnive purposes as if it was from your own dex.
