When was mk 6 introduced?

Officially, it appears the MkVI Corvus suit was developed during the Heresy, toward the end, and (probably) saw it's first use in the battles for Mars, used by the veteran companies of Imperial Fists against the Dark Mechanicus. After that event, virtually all the Legions involved in the Siege of Terra probably had it (Blood Angels, Imperial Fists, White Scars, (possibly) remnants of loyal Death Guard and Lunar Wolves, as well as remnants of Salamanders, Iron Hands, and Raven Guard (though all of these together probably amounted to less than 100 Marines, and it's not even sure they were on Terra at all), the World Eaters, the Thousand Sons, the Sons of Horus, the Emperor's Children, the Death Guard (though I can't imagine they cared much for new power armour after their transformation to Plague marines), the Iron warriors and the contingent of the Word Bearers.

I could also well imagine that experimental MkVIish suits were around among the Legions well before the battle for Mars, and possibly a couple were around on Prospero. But if you want to do a 1K Sons or Space Wolves army on Prospero, then use them very sparingly.

Completely agree with what the guys above have written, but thought I would add a little... The marine Captain in BftA is described as wearing 'Corvus', and it being the latest form of armour, which is happening just as the Heresy broke out.

The events of Legion are taking place at the same time as Horus Rising, and some of the Marines are having a 'Baleen' snout on their armour. While this could be describing mk6, it could also be descibing mk4 which also has a slightly conical nose.

Having said all of this.. for many veterans of the game, mk6 is the armour for marines. Although there are limits, I always think for little things like this that aesthetics should trump strict canonicity - 99% of players you come accross won't know the ins and outs of mk6 armour and its dating (I mean, the only confirmed article we have on it is almost 20 years old in the form of the RT: compilation), but they will understand that the womble helm looks damn cool :)

Agree with Pacific :) except on one thing: in my experience, very few people like the Corvus helm (beakie!). I was given countless corvus helms for my Pre Heresy Imperial Fists from Marine players who said they think they look plain silly. I myself really like 'em.
Hmm, my only problem was you get two mk 6 helms per wolf pack and i dont want to go and drop a load of cash on helmets, i know i could just use non-helmeted heads but im not that keen on alot of them, i like about four or five of them.

You could try some of the bits packs but expect to pay at least £1 or so for them each, and expect them to be out of stock most of the time!

If you aren't hell-bent on mk6, its far easier to get hold of some of the other older armour marks for less money - FW do the 'Sergeant Haas veteran upgrade pack' (10 helms and Torsos, plus an extra power sword for £15) or the 'Steam Knight' helms from Maxmini.eu, who do a range of different mk2/mk3 and legion specific helms.

Ok, do you know if maxmini post to the UK?

As for the red scorpion upgrade pack, if i were to re-sell the shoulder pads, do people actually want to buy them?

What i might do if these things are possible would be to buy two or three steam knight packs and one set of the red scorpions pack as i only have 40 PA marines, 5 TDA marines and two to three hq's to make. Dont you just love christmas? <_<
