Forté
I'm having great difficulty deciding on which Great Company to base my Wolves on as I'd like them to be a bit fluffy (well...more hairy than fluffy). I know I don't want to do Logan or Ragnars companys as these seem to be the main ones you ever see. As for the rest, there's a huge lack of information about them from what I can tell apart from the bit in the new dex. I'm leaning towards the following: Bran Redmaw - lots of Wulfen marked wolves. Gunnar Red Moon - lot of Long Fangs. Kjarl Grimblood - flme based weaponry. Basically I'm after more info on those companies, if there is any. Cheers. Ullr Direfang
you can always make your own, so that the fluff lines up they way you want it. it can be bases off any company/companies that you want it to be based off of. Forté
True, as a 13th company. I normally do but thought I'd do something which has a bit of fluff already for once. Custodian Athiair
there is always the option of combining all the companies together. Like that all 3 companies have been sent on a misson. That way you get the best of all of them. just a suggestion Athiair ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/186353-which-great-company/#findComment-2203876 Share on other sites
Grimtooth
Just read all the entries in the codex and try to see which one appeals to your personality the most. If nothing, then go custom company or 13th. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/186353-which-great-company/#findComment-2203888 Share on other sites
Kenmichi
You could also use the history of one specific Great Company and create your own history for it. I'm taking Egil Ironwolf's current Great Company theme but rewinding a few hundred years before his time to create a mechanized Great Company with its own history and theme. nurglespuss
Exactly, I'm going with Gunnar Redmoon myself, as his description apeals to me personally. But again, I'm re-writing the story abit, and have him returning from a campign, that has seen him victorious but badly mauled. VonMerrick
The codex offers just enough on each Wolf Lord to get a sense of fluff for each company and allow the player to do the rest. I couldn't resist the more feral feel of Harlad Deathwolf's company. Canis Wolfborn, Thunderwolves and Fenrisian Wolves really appeal to me and make my Space Wolves army very different from my other Codex Marine Armies in the past. Niiai
If you want to do another company, do a historicaly. The logos are personal after all so make one for 100 years ago or sutch.
