rodgambit
Straight forward question. Anyone have any answer and can anyone point to an FAQ or rule that states yes or no? Frogstaff
Read the rules for contesting objectives. If any other immobilized vehicle can contest an objective, then a drop pod would work no differently. avatar8481
They do, just like vehicles Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/186368-do-drop-pods-contest-objectives/#findComment-2203892 Share on other sites
ShinyRhino
As has been said, yes. It's a wonderful, sneaky thing to drop empty pods on each objective in a game, and force the enemy to blow them up. rodgambit
I was just curious because a friend tried to make the argument that an unmanned vehicle can't contest objectives, like a thunder fire cannon or certain artillery and we didn't know if drop pods fit into that category. thade
Artillery and Vehicles are different things. As people have said, yes, if your Drop Pod is neither Wrecked nor Detonated, it contests an objective if it is within range. You're wrong on the Thunderfire Cannon too mate. >< It can contest no problem. If it is within 3" of the objective- it contests. A thunderfire can never be unmanned. If the thunderfire is destroyed, it is removed. If the Techmarine is destroyed - the cannon is also removed. Dont know about other artillery that you mention. ShinyRhino
Dont know about other artillery that you mention. I think he's talking about Ork Lobbas and Zzzap Gunz and such.
