So what do you think is better? chainfists or thunderhammers?

thunderhammers auto stunned or shake, i always get them mixed up, the words, not the rules. this ability is used as a fail safe for the weapon, should you not fail to destroy the tank and chainfists provide the extra punch to kill.

So.......let this beer festiv....i mean let this bear debat....let this debate begin! :)

*The beer is on the house. and is that a lovely cooked piece of meat that i smell? :)*

thanks

Chainfists. Thunderhammers are better for MC fighting, chainfists for taking out vehicles.

^^^^^^^ this is exactly right. some people like TH because the stun( or shaken? what ever) vehicles, but if you want to destroy the thing go with CF, i tend to run them over TH anyways.

For the same points on a WG in TDA, CF every time.

For PA you just don't have the option, so the debate is PF over TH which PF is my choice.

I do like a TH on a IC though as IC target priority is usually non-armor oriented, and if you got a TH you should have a SS, which means I take RA over TDA leaving out the CF as an option.

against almost any vehicle a thunder hammer is better. most vehicles have armour 10-11 at the abck, the difference between the two choices is minimal as you will almost always penetrate anyway. the chainfist doens't help you with damage results, neither does the thunder hammer. what the thunder hammer does is guarantee that should you fluff the damage rolls you will stop the vehicle from shooting. very good against things like leman russes...

the chainfist only really comes into its own against vehicles with armour 12+ at the rear where the thunder hammer begins to struggle to penetrate in the first palce.

the biggest factor in my decision is versatility though. with a chain fist you are dedicating that unit to an anti tank role. whilst they can damage MC a thunder hammer is better (it will allow you a second round of attacks that you may not get with the chainfist).

if it were me i would equip the unit with at least a 2-1 ration of thunder hammers vs chainfists. mix and match, its your best friend with wolfguard. if you are worried about high armur targets throw in one or two chainfists but eave some thunderhammers so they can deal with a multitude of opponents and stop any vehicles you don't destroy from shooting you in the face.
