minigun762 Posted December 3, 2009 Share Posted December 3, 2009 Maybe its just the name, but "Doombolt" makes it seem more like a single large glob of warp energy, instead of a chaos machine gun. In that light, I'd rather have it had been a small blast. Would still probably kill just as much on average considering BS5 is more important for shots vs reducing scatter but seems like it would have been more unique given that Codex Marines have a multi shot, S4 low AP power already. Almost every time i fire off a doombolt I just can't help but think "so I'm just firing a super bolter... thats mildly interesting". At least a blast would make it feel a little different.
