Werewolf3339
I was recently thinking about putting a 3 man lascannon pack of long fangs in a razorback with a twin-linked lascannon on top. I've recently been using 2-3 packs of 5 missile launchers for long range support but I was toying around with the idea of 3 lascannons (1 twin-linked) in one area, able to fire at 3 targets if necessary instead. I think it would be much less vulnerable to fire also, and easily able to scream across the board when needed to contest or move to another position. What do you guys think? Grey Mage
Why not a 5 man squad in a razorback? Thats what I usually run- PL, 2xML, 2xLC, and a Las/plas razorback. 220pts of death, for three targets a turn. rodgers37
Why not keep them still? if the move they cannot shoot ^_^ especially if you have LC...... (which have long range, and do not need to get closer...) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/186438-long-fangs/#findComment-2204776 Share on other sites
Hear da Lamentation
Yes, I have read a bit about this before and and mot sure I understand the point. I assume it is just to get them to point "a" as quickly as possible, disembark and keep them there. Otherwise you are losing lots of rounds of none shooting because they are moving. I believe the Razorback simply acts as another Long Fang, the Fangs don't actually use the transport but 75 points gets you a twin linked lascannon that cannot be harmed on the front or sides by bolter fire, say. I plan on using two LF packs with Razorbacks in 1500 point games, the Razorback is just a cheap predator Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/186438-long-fangs/#findComment-2204917 Share on other sites
Lord Ragnarok
What has already been mentioned and that Razorbacks allow the LF's to get into position quickly if the mission is Dawn of War. Good point on that. Considering they count as moving anyway you might as well get them a nice comfortable location. WG Vrox
There are a few times when having a RB for your LF is a good idea, Against a demon list or a DP heavy list that will target your LF. I would rather loose one turn of shooting that have them wiped out by a Vanguard unit with AP 2 weapons. Also can be used to limit line of sight to your LF as well as a nice get away vehicle to preserve a kill point. If you want to use a Lone Wolf in your list the RB is a nice option for a taxie and the Lone Wolf's starting position near the fangs gives them a rear guard. Vrox.
