WIP Moriar the Chosen, Death Company Dread

He needed a face lift, and since the new ironclad is plastic and kick-ass I decided to give this guy another shot!

Had to do some conversion to build a Powerfist for the left side but I am really happy with the result.

These are still the pre paint stages, I will have some updates soon once I have gotten a little further in the paint job.

More recent pic, he is primed, most of the metal has been started, and the start if the red done with machrite. I intend to keep the whole model quite dark, brooding and imposing.

Ahhh good old Moriar, looking good so far. Like the right handed DCCW how did you manage that, I may have to steal the idea if you tell us how to. Normally I don't like it on the Iron Clad but with two of them it looks well balenced

haha, do I dare?! Its not so hard really, I think it's pretty obvious if you look closely.

All you need to do is get hold of another Powerfist right arm, cut off the wrist so you have the flexi-armour type piece and the 'hand'. Cut off the chainfist on the left arm where the separation is, stick on the hand in its place. Nice simple but I think it looks RAD!

Got a little more dont on this dude lately. Just getting base coats down but he is starting to get some character.

Just for kicks I thought I would show my OLD Moriar, from way back when they first released the 'Furioso' pattern and put him next to my new and improved version:

I am liking the change so far B)

Spent a little more time on this before I get to finishing my Vanguards, nice to break off and paint something different. Still getting lots of base coats down, but paid some attention to front sarcophagus details.

He is still not stuck together, so the wonky smoke launcher will be straight once it's done and I am still deciding on a pose.

just out curiosity, do you know what you are going to do to the banner? ^_^

I do have a rough idea, but actually doing it will be another story...My freehand skills are shall we say...Crap :P Hopefully my girlfriend will be able to give me a simple design based on my old banner and give me the step by step to paint it *hides in shame*

Ok, just a small update now. I have mainly added some washes to his tabards and seals and also worked on the skulls around the model, working from graveyard, to desert yellow to bleached bone and then washed with sepia, and added a layer of shining gold to the sarcoughagus and washed again with sepia. Will highlight both again in the final stages.
