andrewm9
So I went to my FLGS today and picked up this months copy of White Dwarf like I usually do when I see it on the rack to scan for painting and modeling articles. Lo and Behold, I was shocked to find a useful article in it about Planetstrike. I was even more shocked when this article had something about Daemonhunters and Witch hunters in it. You could have knocked me over with a feather. I was so surprised that I bought the issue which I never do. This article was a Planetstrike Tactica with some more stratagems in it for each army. For once we weren't lumped in with the Imperium. Each army had a distinct stratagem available to them. For my beloved Sisters of Battle (or Witch hunters if you prefer), there was a nice Attack Stratagem entitled Seraphic Choir. In essence when a friendly unit deepstrikes, all friendly units get a Leadership bonus and Furious Charge for the rest of the turn. All enemy unit get Slow and Purposeful and a Leadership penalty. If the deepstriking unit is actually a Seraphim squad, the bonuses and penalties are doubled. Pretty cool! The stalwart Daemonhunters get a Defensive Stratagem called Octagrammatic Wards. Basically all Daemonhunter units get an invuln save within a certain distance of a Stronghold. Daemons who deepstrike within that perimeter cannot assault the turn that arrive. This bodes well I guess. Maybe just maybe GW is turning its way to the Inquisition since there are 2 Marine codices out and a 3rd on the way. Not bad White Dwarf and thank you Phil Kelly for a nice bone. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/186497-white-dwarf-359/ Share on other sites
Magnus Thane
Yeah I bought it too. I even had the storeowner set asside White Dwarf again for a while. As I actually enjoyed the November and December White Dwarves. I doubt they'll return to them next year... regretfully. But frequently DH's and WH's do get some stratagems and minor benefits in the special rulesets. Still... I'd LOVE a Codex Inquisition or a Codex Grey Knights... Inquisitor Fox
Thank you for the report! I'll definitely have to stop by one of the GW's around my house and grab a copy to add to my library. Regardless of what it may or may not say about future codices, it's nice to actually get a little attention, no? ArmouredWing
Yeah, a nice little Xmas pressie and no mistake. I'd also have to say that the whole issue is crammed full of good reading, so much so that I broke with tradition and bought the copy after a quick thumb through. I'd hope that this presents a change for the better but we'll have to wait and see...still, next month will give us some idea of what we stand to lose/gain against the new nids (not looking forward to facing the hive guard from waht bit I've read of them).
