rodgambit
I see Canis comes on a 60mm base and he is our only TWC model so far, so if we are making our own conversions should we also put them on 60mm bases? Thanks Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/186499-base-for-twc/ Share on other sites
jmteeter
That would be my assumption, yes. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/186499-base-for-twc/#findComment-2205564 Share on other sites
mastrchief33
This is difficult to say for sure. The unit type is cavalry and there is a cavalry base (same as bike bases). My understanding of the reason for the 60mm base for canis is to take advantage of his special rule, and maybe also because his is considered to be a giant thunderwolf. Personally I would use cav bases because no one can say your wrong. Their unit type is in fact cavarly. stinkenheim
if i remeber (and i really can't be bothered to search for it) but for tournaments and such it was said to be a 60mm base. in my opinion that is ridiculous, have you seen what that many models would look like? you would take up half your deployment zone with them like that :D i would be tempted to use 40mm bases for the time being, or extend a 40mm base to be the same length as a bike base (its what i've done for my WG biker). the biggest part of the argument is that canis is on a 60mm base, but his rules stae fangir is the largest of its kind and compare the artwork for normal TW with fangir they are much smaller. obviously if you decide to use a £25 model as the basis for your conversion then the 60mm base is your only choice. im not saying people are wrong before the shouting begins, just i think it looks silly haveing a unit on that large a base that aren't walkers/MC.... rodgambit
Ya I used my dreads in a game with a buddy as TWC proxy and a full unit of 5+canis was absurb on the board. It's definitely hard to hide a unit like that. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/186499-base-for-twc/#findComment-2205952 Share on other sites

It's definitely hard to hide a unit like that. Base size, it would take up the same real estate as a squad of Speeders or a cluster of Vypers. Moves the same be they hovercraft or cavalry, except when applying boosters, cav don't have 'em. Just sayin'.
