hendybadger
Does the SM Vindicator come with a full Rhino and extra Vindi parts? I ask because I want Rhinos with Extra armour without having to buy FW sets. And the Vindi parts could then be used to build a Landraider Ares. Hope someone can help Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/186602-rhino-vindi-question/ Share on other sites
number6
There are no "official" extra armour bits in any plastic kit. And even in WD reports where extra armour is on vehicles, you don't see anything significantly different about the model. Extra armour is, effectively, and "invisible" upgrade for WYSIWYG purposes. By all means, model something up if you like -- or buy the FW bits -- but don't worry about modeling anything on specifically for extra armour. I don't know whether the vindi is just "Rhino+", as I've never built a vindi. hendybadger
WOuld it look Ok to put Vindi armour on a Rhino and then FW doors on that? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/186602-rhino-vindi-question/#findComment-2207096 Share on other sites
Mal
Yes, the vindi components only differ for the front panel of thtank and a crane loader on the back... the sides are pure rhino chassis so the FW doors fit just fine. hendybadger
Doesnt the armour cover the doors? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/186602-rhino-vindi-question/#findComment-2207135 Share on other sites
Mal
Yes and no, the FW EA upgrade has door hatches. You can close them, or have them open... But it will fit on the Vindi just as well as it does on the Rhino. MadCowCrazy
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XQJB5Xd9cOE Beasts of War building a Vindicator, you can see the extra side armor pieces you get with the kit. At 5:10 you will see the EXACT armor plate piece that goes on the sides. Hope this give you an idea of the extra armor u get with the Vindicator. MadCowCrazy
It doesnt really come with a Full rhino either, everything except the front plate basically. The one with the windows etc is replaced by a smaller one with room for the big gun. But if you have a spare rhino front lying around u could use that.
