----------------------

Hi guys, I bought and made these a week ago, but they kinda dropped down the priority list. Anyway, I decided to bite the bulled and start 'em B) This is as far as I got this evening (can't do any more, got a conference tomorrow :) ) should get some sleep!

I'll keep you posted with pics, but any thoughts so far, please fire away (sorry for grainy pic, camera seems to dislike evening photography).

Thanks all!

Cheers all, sorry been on a conference for 2 days :) (up in Kenilworth if anyone lives enar there :o ).

LOL Beast indeed! thats grey I tells you!

I'm tempted to free hand the shoulder pads, but am trying to keep painting time down. There is a white wolf skull as part of another transfer on the sheet. If I can get ahold of some spare transfer sheets, i could butcher a few, after painting on a red circle... hmmmm, whe shall see! :D

Thanks all!

They're looking really good, I especially like the red and black shoulder pad combination. Great job :( I could not help but wonder how different the colour of the base coat of the first picture is compared to the last picture. From blue to grey. Either you do a lot of 'building up' or the lighting was different in your camera, because I could not see any remnants of the bluish foundations at all. I ask simply out of curiosity, a habit of an old figure model painter!

P.S. I have my note pad ready and my pencil sharpened, and have taken my place on the front row for the dreadnought. Please take a lot of pics of the stages. Can't wait!!!

Thanks! <_<

I think it was the lighting, they look very very blue in the first pic! the second one is how they really look :cuss

cheers!

I will take lots of (good) pics while doing the dreadnought, I'll set up a little lighted/marked area so it'll be the same shot/angle/lighting etc. each time :)

Thanks again!

Yep, I had a feeling it was the light. Certain bulbs make the picture cooler, hence the blue. I have the same problem with my pics. My models have an Adeptus battlegrey basecoat but they turn out like Fenris grey. I tweaked the white balance and got better results.

I feel a bit guilty about you going to all that trouble to take pics. You don't have to. What's important is to see your great work. Tone and colour are secondary especially when you know the problem (lighting in this case). Anyway thanks for all the trouble, it is appreciated and not soon forgotten.

Regards,
