robnik_35
These are the pics of a project I just put together. Its an 18" by 18" water feature with some low hills and trails running throughout. I'm going to be posting some more info on it at my website Red Dragon Terrain This is the first step, with the trails and hills carved out and glued onto the styrene base http://www.red-dragon-terrain.com/uploads/2/7/1/5/2715769/8957879.jpg Next I covered the piece with brown paint and terrain goop similarly coloured http://www.red-dragon-terrain.com/uploads/2/7/1/5/2715769/8674177.jpg Then I added the ground textures and water material, leaving me with this... http://www.red-dragon-terrain.com/uploads/2/7/1/5/2715769/1049803.jpg And close up... http://www.weebly.com/uploads/2/7/1/5/2715769/2899345.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/186760-swampland-trail-start-to-finish/ Share on other sites
Thantoes
I can just hear a Vietnam War Movie's soundtrack in my head when I see this. Very cool ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/186760-swampland-trail-start-to-finish/#findComment-2208560 Share on other sites
Muller
for being that shallow water I feel it's waay too blue. a swpam/ricefield would more likely have a greenish brown muddy color Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/186760-swampland-trail-start-to-finish/#findComment-2208594 Share on other sites

Definately. Paint them a green/brown mix and it will look ten times better...IMO :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/186760-swampland-trail-start-to-finish/#findComment-2208625 Share on other sites

The Normish
Quite nice. I agree on the color, but also feel that I need to ask: How would you put it on a table without it looking awkward? KEEPER
I'd like to see a rice patty look to it, seems to fit. *walks off humming Paint it Black* Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/186760-swampland-trail-start-to-finish/#findComment-2208803 Share on other sites
robnik_35
Yeah, I agree the colour should be more greeny brown... i'm also going to put a skim coat of plaster mixed with caulking on the swampy areas to give it a bit of muddytexture. It looks like a "Limpid pool Trail" right now. robnik_35
Manufacturers Suggested Retail Price. Special deal for you though. Mostly excellent suggestions about how to improve this, so thanks guys. I've also gotten some feedback to work on the borders to bring a smoother transition in. Its a new piece though, so its all about the learning. I'm posting a mountain I made after this. There's no water though, so hopefully I wont have bungled on the grey.
