Dreadnaughts, Scouts & Wolf Guard

So I just bought the SW Battleforce and I'm trying to figure out what to do with the scouts. I was leaning towars 4x BP/CCW + 1 Melta with a WG for support but had a question. If a regular Wolf Guard joins a squad of Scouts do the scouts lose their BEL and other special rules or does the Wolf Guard gain them? It doesn't say in the codex either way, at least not that I've found. If I wanted the scouts to retain their nifty rules would I have to use a WGBL with the Saga of the Hunter?

I was also wondering if anyone had used a dreadnaught with the dual Twin-Linked Autocannon setup? For personal nostalgia reasons and pure coolness factor this is something I've been interested in modeling, but I was wondering if it was even remotely effective.

One other question about Wolf Guard. Is taking a Wolf Guard with appropriate combi-weapon and say, a powerfist, worth the poitns cost and the loss of the 2nd free special weapon in a Grey Hunters Squad? From what I've read here it seems that the WG with a PF is cheaper than adding one to a 10-man GH squad but wasn't sure if the extra points for a combi-weapon would offset the loss of the 2nd special weapon especially in packs that are designated for "shooting" instead of "assault".

Well, think about it this way... how often do you really get to shoot your melta or plasma twice out of a Gh squad?

Then consider for 43 points you are getting a WG with a Power Fist and Combi-whatever. For 40 points you can get a Gh with a PF. So for 3 more points you are giving your PF +1 Attack and the squad +1 LD. Sounds like a deal to me.

A Wolf Guard Pack Leader can't buy Sagas, at least as far as I can tell, so he would likely gain the benefits of the rules for the Scouts BEL.

A Dual TLAC is going to net you 4 S7 ap 4 shots, so it's useful, though a bit limited in terms of what it can do. Light vehicle/transport hunter? Big plus.

Anything else, not so much so. IG will hate you if you turn the thing on them though.

When I can, I run WG and GH with Fists. It's a steal for the bonuses of +1 base attack, +1 LD. 38 vs. 40 pts actually shows a GH costs MORE but does Fewer attacks, and has lower LD. 9 GH's led by a WG with a Fist in a Rhino w/ EA is a real plus, when you have the elite spot to spare.

A Wolf Gaurd Pack Leader who joins a squad is now a part of that squad for all intents and purposes- he can never leave it, he counts as being whatever they are *in this case, elites for scouts* and he obeys their rules- including OBEL.

He purchases his own equipment, and has no bearing on the equipment his squad can have.

He also doesnt count towards their strength when it comes to squad sizes.

But, once assigned to the squad right before the battle hell count in all ways as a scout. Because individual scouts dont have the OBEL rule, the unit as a whole does.

Saga of the Hunter is actually debatable about how/if it interacts with OBEL though. I would say it does, as OBEL is just a form of Outflanking, but it can be argued otherwise- stick with pack leaders.
