There might be thread like this one but i couldnt find...

Anyway, im getting very confused about what painting scheme should i choose for my wolves...

if you have any good schemes, ideas with pics i would be very thankfull

i would like it grey but still with some blue in it (not like shadow grey which looks too ultramarine :P)

something that would look more real and serious and with some dirt too

thank you all for any ideas ;)

Just remember, its your great company...paint what you like! :)

I personally use the Shadow Grey, and drybrush with Space Wolves Grey, but I think you'll find that a lot of people do Codex/Fortress grey as the base color. If the Shadow Grey is too blue for you, why not mix it with some codex/fortress gray to lighten the shade to where you want it?

honestly...

the best painting scheme for space wolves ive ever seen is from this guy

but he said that he made it with airbrushing so i doubt if ill achieve the same effect with my brushes...

I've tried to achieve similar effect on sm chest (SW grey then devlan mud) but it looked brown then i've added asurmen blue wash and now its too blue xD (i have probably applied too much of it)

thats how it looks :)

what do you think ?

You need to have your models mostly assembled to use that airbrushing method because it works like directional light sourcing. If you are wondering about colours then base is Fenris Grey, next layer is Shadow Grey then finally Space Wolf Grey. You'd only get a similar effect through dry brushing or very painstakingly wet blending though.

I prime my models Codex Grey (yes - no black priming), then I apply a basecoat of 50/50 Shadow Grey-Space Wolves Grey mix, then give them rich wash of Asurmen Blue, followed by detailed precision wash of Badab Black. Then drybrush edges with Space Wolves Grey and sometimes repaint the base-coat mix if the result on some areas is too dark. I will be posting some pics shortly, by basically the results are close to these made by Beasts of War, well not that good anyway
