Grey Knight Shrouding argument

I recently had a large game with my Grey Knights vs Orks.

Half way through was an argument over Shrouding.

The Stompa fired its first gun at the GK Termies. Rolled for Shrouding and got 12" total. They were 16" away.

He then tries to fire a different weapon at the same unit.

My view- Shrouding failed = whole Stompa cant shoot at the GKTs or anyone else that turn.

His veiw - failed = one gun is the same as one unit. So each gun has to roll the 3 d6

Which was right?

You were. The Stompa is a Unit of one single Model, with multiple guns on the same model. As is clearly marked in the Shrouding rules on pg 8 it is each time the Unit fires, and a Unit (unless a Super-Heavy or Gargantuan Creature as per Apocalypse, or a Tau battlesuit unit with Target Locks) fires all of it's weapons on the same target. Sucks for him, but them's the rules :)
