Daemonhunters / Grey Knights online petition

I tend to think people would have more success influencing GeeDub posting a form letter that could be printed off a signed along with a mail in address for key personal. Unsolicited internet petitions yield about as much impact as the effort involved in signing one would indicate.

Might be worth checking International Inquisition Day thread out for an idea of what's been attempted before.

There's a couple of things I'd say relating to this. Firstly, a petition of this type needs to cast its net a little wider. GK's/DH's are not a commonly played force and as with any petition weight of numbers are the key to success. With this in mind it would be worth banding the forces of the =][= together (GK/DH/SoB/WH players) to encompass the whole of the inquisition rather than just one half.

The next thing I'd say is that the guys putting this together need to run to a timescale so that the names are collected and put into GW in a prompt manner. It's no good getting a few names, sending them off and then a load more coming through.

The third thing I'd mention is that International Inquisition Day 2008 got a pretty good response but alas GW have still not given any indication of what is in store for the =][=. As it is they are determined to hold on their current course and are refusing to bow to consumer pressure purely because we are few.

We have lost an ally in the GW camp. In 2008 a number of us were contacted by Andy Hoare in regards to raising petitions to get some attention given to the forces of the =][= but despite his input nothing of significance came out of GW towers. From what I've heard on the grapeline Andy has left for pastures new and so our man in Lenton is no longer contactable.

For those setting this type of thing up you need to be committed to getting it known out there. Get properly organised and post on a number of forums and also contact the likes of BoLS to get their backing (BigRed is a particularly good guy to get in touch with) but it's key to get the publicity, get people on board and get organised... just don't expect too much to come of it.

If anyone want some info or advice drop me a line and I'll dig out some of the IID info out for you to check out.

Good luck with it guys.

Honestly, I think your wasting your time, why would GW (A business) do what you demand? Unless your a share holder they have no reason to answer to you.

Try not to be too harsh, 'K? :)

But the real answer is: Shouldn't most businesses -- especially retail businesses -- be interested in customer feedback?

Sigh... Am I the only one contempt to wait for the codex? Starting to feel like the odd one out here...

And in my honest opinion our all metal army still looks better than most armies I see on the table today.

So Veto the plastic! :P

=]D[=

Customer feedback is important but customer demands are usually to be ignored. They know that If everyone on that petition stopped buying from them, that it wouldn't really matter, I know this, you know this as they represent such a small part of overall sales.

The online petition is also so easy to fill out that its worthless, it takes no effort and is easilly dismissed, If everyone on there sent a handwritten (or at least typed and signed) letter to GW then it would have more effect, though it would still be a fruitless endevour.

If they did react to this it would set a precedent and they'd be bankrupted by doing everything that faceless people on the internet told them to do.

Nerd rage is right.

I like the current codex but we're being left behind by the new editions (my GK are getting shot up too often) and I would love some new models to add some more variety to my 10 man squads (excuse for a third squad).

If you really want to impact GW, start playing warmachine and give somebody else your money while you wait.

Drop in revenue will result in another Space Marine Codex coming out in 2011. They will just go back to their cash cows, not put development time and money into a little used niche army.

ROFL Warmachine, Warmachine... people really see the Holy Grail in it. Personalyl I never liked that game nor it's fluff. Though there are other non GW wargames that tickle my interest. Regretfully they are a waste of money as nobody is locally interested in them.
