Yet another Xmas Shopping List

Hear da Lamentation

Recommended Posts

OK Wolves, going to be picking one or two more models up for Chrimbo, so I would like your advice on what to go for.

Currently I have

1 rhino

1 predator

1 dreadnought

5 termies (which I never really seem to use)

5 long fangs

5 scouts

20 Grey Hunters

At the moment we play 1000 point games, this may possibly go up to 1250. Normal enemies are Deathwing, 'Nids, Orks and Eldar (occassionally)

Thanks Wolves. Have a glass of rofion warspirit from me while you ponder.

Land Raiders are always a good choice too. If you are only playing small games though rhino's or razorback's are great too. I prefer the razorback though with some extra fire power. just using game reference for the choices though. any Xmas present is still awesome though.
OK thanks guys. I sort of thought it would be the rhino ...

What about a squad of 3 bikes? Is it too few to be effective? Would they go well with my other troop choices ?

*shrugs* Dunno what your budget looks like, but some swiftclaws wouldnt be bad... adds some speed to your army, gives you something new to paint.

IF your likely budget goes a bit higher, you might ask for the "Ravenwing Battleforce" as it has six bikes, attack bike, and a landspeeder- wich will nicely fill out your FA slots. Id probly make it 5 SC, AB, Character, LS with MM or MM/HF, but thats just me.

My normal army is 1 squad of GH with a WG and RunePriest HQ in a rhino. Then there is a 10man pack of GH (with WG) as an assault. The the Long Fangs (ML and PC) and the Dread as backup for the LF. Predator as another heavy unit.

The Termies (so far) have never been used. Not enough points at 1000 to fit them in usefully.

Definitely sounds like you need a Rhino first, then (for the second unit of GH), although a Drop Pod wouldn't be a terrible choice if you wanted something different (and would give you a transport your Terminators could use if you so wished, or even your Dread if you wanted to).

In fact, if you have the cash you could grab a Razorback and a Drop Pod. Assuming you leave the RB weapon mount removable (so you can play it as a Rhino) you'll have a huge amount of variation in what you take.

A Razorback Kit and a Commander Box for a good HQ setup.

Edit: Note, you might snag some terrain, like a bastion or aegis line- theyre good kit, and useful for any player really... as are materials to make your own :Troops:.

Grey Mage, you must get a cut of the profits whenever a razorback kit is bought :Troops: You Love em.

It is good advice tho, for a few bucks more get the razorback and model it so you can attach a weapon's platform or just keep it as a rhino.

You should get the transport. And another squad of troops if you are going to be playing games larger than 1000 points.

As stated above if you want a few bikes get the ravenwing force. For about the same cost as buying everything seperately you get a landspeeder for free.

Merry Christmas! And Happy Holidays! (But I am assuming xmas because hanukkah already started and why would you be asking gift questions now.)

Thanks Guys.

I have left the predator with removable weapons, so that can always be used as a rhino. With that said ... would I be better buying something like a vindicator?

Clearly ... as you have all said .... I need one more troop carrier.

Thanks again Wolves.

H.D.L.

Second (third ?) the Razorback, you can magnetize the roof, as you've done with your Pred and can use as a Rhino if needed.

I always think your second Grey Hunters squad is vulnerable being on foot, and if you don't want to use it as a Rhino for them, you could use it as Razorback for your Long Fangs.
