cathar the great
OKay guys I got some bad news  : I think this project is over, The bear is too big( like some one pointed out before :turned: ). I finally got some standard power armored legs today and there tiny, like really TINY. I'm still planning on finishing the bear, just don't know if its worth casting any more I'll post whats been done so far later tonight. I think you're giving up too fast. Look at the wolf on one of the first pages in the Wolves codex. It's also huge in comparison to the marine sitting on it. At least finish this one and maybe put a Lord in Terminator armor on it. That should be massive enough to fit. You can still use it as a display center piece of your army and in friendly games. Or as a counts-as Canis. High Marshal Sigfeird
MY FRIEND NO LISTEN TO THE BRAVE CRIES OF YOUR BROTHERS!!!. This model deserves to be finished, you have a few options open too you, either the terminator lord riding this mighty beast, or my idea based on the thunder fire cannon, but mounted on the bears back, dont give in all this work will be worth the end result. Extartius
I told you it was to big before and pity you couldn't find any in the catologue :P       Helpful, that. I will echo what the other (more positive) people have said and urge you to persevere. Once you've got a marine saddled onto it I'm sure it will look awesome. 1TH0R3
Cheers guys thanks for all the support and positive comments, it means heaps to me. I PROMISE to post new pics tonight (just the bear, still havn't started rider yet). My solution to the rider-to-small problem was simply make the rider bigger, the mock-up looked much better now. Doghouse
He's looking brilliant mate! Don't give up on him, what you have to remember is a fully armoured marine is probably going to weigh some around a ton so he's going to have to be big to support the weight and some fenrisian wolves are quoted as being up to the size of a Rhino apc. Chuck up a scale shot with a regular marine mate. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/187099-thunder-bear/page/3/#findComment-2222966 Share on other sites
the jimster
I agree with Doghouse the bear is looking great and loving the armour very detailed and a scaled shot would be great :-) but dont give up on him as looks fantastic Jim Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/187099-thunder-bear/page/3/#findComment-2222975 Share on other sites

Terrible_Trygon
I would have the straps under the armour plates. Having them over ruins the press mould armour. mr tough guy
Like the armour even if it does remind me of the work of Scibor, in fact the entire project reminds me a lot of this guy: http://www.sciborminiatures.com/pow.php?ab...war_king_02.jpg though your's looks more like a bear then Scibors which as someone pointed out to me resembles a giant sloth Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/187099-thunder-bear/page/3/#findComment-2225521 Share on other sites
1TH0R3
bollocks, I guess that means im gonna get accused of stealing now ;). That bear looks cool though imo. cathar the great
Don't worry too much about people accusing you of copying. Nothing wrong with being inspired by great work. The armor looks great so far, though I'm with Trygon on the armor straps. SquigBait
That is incredible work! Most of my conversion work is done with plasticard... Things of an organic nature are not my forte'. Keep it going, I really want to see the final product on this!
