Having been in this forum for about 6 months and having been inspired by a lot of good work and great mini's, i think it's time i show you some of my work. Aesthetically, I have to say the turret gunner doesnt work for me...something seems off there and I suspect it is the height of the marine in relation to the area you provided...doesnt look like it fits well to me. nice work getting it together though. Arhh, the pain of working with IG part, where is that Techmarine! migth have to extend it a bit. maybe bulking up the buttom at bit. Winterseven Posted December 15, 2009 Share Posted December 15, 2009 Dude - Purple rocks! There isnt enough purple marines outhere - my Iron Hearts Chapter are Purple and black! As to the Pred, thats a nice clean paint job, maybe too clean - just a suggestion the weathering is great but maybe add some smoke staining around the vents so it looks like it has been running...? Ok, the sentinel part deffinately helps on height so thats good...and I see you tried to match it to the seat, which may be good too. again, personal aesthetics here so ignore me if you want, a modification which might be a little improvement is adding some width to the turret area. it feels/looks very narrow right now, which though ok, does make the profile a little...well wonky for lack of a better term... If you think youre up to it...maybe making the turret area a little wider, say half way out over the rear wheels, would balance the look of the thing... just a thought side note: conversions like this are fun...but when doing so, I highly recomend blue tack (sticky tack or w/e) to assemble the parts. this lets you put together and pull apart without damaging the pieces with glue. once you have it how you like, then glue and greenstuff are your friends. As for the Weathering, it's an all new army and the plan is to add battle damage to the vehicles depending on their preformance in games. i'm up against Nidz and IG mainly so claw marks, melta and LC burn will most likely cover them in no time:-) Though i don't agree with you on the smoke around the vents. IMO the exhaust fumes goes out the top and not the side cooling vents. Is there somewhere in here i can see your Iron Hearts, like to see them. i'm having problems getting the right shades og my TAC marines. GhostLegion: just added some greenstuff, hmm adding 1/3" to the width would do something good, i agree. and good point about the blue tack, i usually do it but was fresh out and the conversiondevil forced my hand ^_^ But thanks both of you. Pain to cut it at the re-assemble the helmet. Shrike has been painted, will post pic's soon. oh and by the way...
