Thunderpup
Just curious what all you've come up with? Green stuff, suitable models, regular wolf models? Thanks, Pup Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/187309-how-are-you-all-modelling-cyberwolves/ Share on other sites
Grey Mage
Regular Wolf models with some small green stuff or sprue taken additions glued on. ChaosPhoenix
I'm using Vampire Counts Dire Wolves with a little greenstuff and the boneparts painted boltgun metal -> black wash -> chainmail. Godhead
there is a cybermastiff from the necromunda range. I had considered trying to get ahold of a few of those. Prophecy
And where is this Necromunda Cybermastiff? I'm looking on GW site, but not seeing it. Though the "Jakara Spyrer" would make a pretty mean looking Callidus... And holy crap, there has to be something I can do with Mordheim's "Clan Skyre Rat Ogre", but I just have no idea what... Who COULDN'T use a giant steampunk giant rat bone golem....thing? Phoenix, any chance you'd put up some WIP and/or completed pics? seconded Sorry I haven't painted them yet. But since I've got 6 Direwolves to spare, I can paint a quick preview version in the next days, so you see, what I mean. Natanael
That would be great. I am thinking of adding 1-3 Iron Priests w/ 4 Cyberwolves each, and your idea seems solid. Godhead
the cyber mastiff is part of the arbite enforcers gang. I haven't checked to see if you can get a handler blister (if you can, the mastiff should come with) I just saw an auction on ebay for 3 handlers and 3 mastiffs though. Wolf Guard Dan
Yeah that Cyber Mastiff looks pretty small. I like the Idea of using Dire Wolves. Or just whatever you use for your Fen Wolves just bitted up. So your Fen Wolves and Cyber Wolves do look cohesive and not like different species. Streamdragon
You should also look into the Inquisitor range Cybermastiff. It's considerably bigger, though it might be a lot harder to find. Zemke
These are totally illegal tournament wise, but I found a Heroscape set called "Soulborgs" that comes with "Deathstalkers" that are basically cybernetic wolves. The blister is labeled "Special Collection 10" and comes with three "wolves" and four figures called "Blastatrons." All for around $12 American. The wolves are the right size in my opinion, being slightly larger than GW plastic wolves. If you used some putty, you could fill them out a bit (they're on the thin side) and use them as Thunder Wolves as well. Hope this helps. ChaosPhoenix
I just painted 2 examples for you. They're not greenstuffed and painted really really quickly. By the way, does anyone know some good colors for painting near black or dark brown furr? Click on the photos for even more photos ;) http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2561/4190072260_79cc84cf4a_b.jpg http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2511/4189311087_fd0b8133ec_b.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/187309-how-are-you-all-modelling-cyberwolves/#findComment-2217039 Share on other sites
Prophecy
Those come out looking pretty good. What colors are you using? I may have to try that. Do you have any that you've greenstuffed that great gaping area in their belly though? Do you have any that you've greenstuffed that great gaping area in their belly though? Nope not yet. They're pretty rotten yes. But all have an intact ripcage you could probably greenstuff over without many problems. The metal one is: drybrushed Boltgun Metal -> Black Wash -> drybrushed Chainmail -> Black Wash -> drybrushed Chainmal. The hair is adeptus battlegrey -> Black Wash -> drybrushed Codex Grey The brown one's metalparts are done as above. The furr ist just Darkflesh -> Black Wash -> drybrushed Vomitbrown -> Black Wash. Grimmwulf
Well if it is a Cyber Wolf it probably does not even need organs, maybe you could even get away without greenstuffing the ribcages. that might just be a battle damaged cyber wolf. Yes the one in the codex looks pretty beaten up too. And in the 40k universe, they would probably build them from dead, slaughtered, poor wolfies.
