Dante can never get in a Transport. He has a jump pack. Try taking a Vindicator and dropping pie plates on the unit.

Hmmm did not know that, ill let you know how he is running him.

I know he has no other transports, so unless he is using jump packs and attaching him to his death company maybe? if he can do that?

But as far as im aware he only has his rhinos as transports.

I dont have a vindi....

I a thinking about getting a whilrwind however. this would allow me to "Drop plates" once i pop his transports.

i have been considering droping my lone wolf ( TDA,CF,SS) as I dont know how useful he will be againt a list like this. unless i can get him close to a Baal.

I'd suggest a Vindicator before a whirlwind if you're looking to make purchases.

Ive never been a big fan due to their short range.

While the Whirlwind dosnt hit as hard, I can fire from cover and often makes it though the game.

though to be honest i have never tried one.

Edit: yes he is running Dante with his Death squad, all using jump packs.

A whirlwind kills 3-4 marines a shot for me, and about 8-9 orks with a good hit. Against tau and eldar it will wipe out whole squads with astounding ease.

The only people its sub-par against is Necrons. Bloodless, shiny, stupid necrons.

I dont leave home without one, unless im DPing in. Then its one of the first things thunderhawks drop in.

So do you prefer the Whirlwind over the Vindi Grey Mage?

Im trying to decide if I should field one over my lone wolf. who is the exact same points cost as a whirlwind.

I like a whirlwind due to being able to fire from long distances and behind cover. Also, when you think about it, your pretty much hitting a whole squad with a heavy bolter shot. As far as making a choice over your lone wolf, do it, the lone wolf wont last long im guessing, but as far as purchases, I would go with a vindicator, I have never have had trouble getting into range, and will be more than successful in destroying anything.

Yes I do- for less than the cost of a 5 man tac squad you get a vehicle gauranteed to make back its minimal amount of points invested and provide the rather long range fire support that SW lists tend to lack. Remember, its even decent at damaging enemy transports- as ordnance you roll 2d6 and pick the highest for armor penetration.

Yeah i hadnt thought about it that way.

I had thought about the fact it adds ranged strenght to a list which as wolves we do lack.

Plus with the Nid dex comming out I think it will get good use.

Edit: also i supose if i can pop his transports the whrilwind will get alot more points back against 5 man foot slogging units.
