LtRazor
For every five models in the squad, one wolf guard in terminator armour may choose... Does this mean that you can have 2 heavy weapons in a unit of six wolf guards (just as before) or do you have to fill the unit to 10 (silly interpretation)? And does Wolf Guards allocated to other units still count as part of unit? Example: Wolfguard in powerarmour with fist with Bloodclaws #1 Wolfguard in powerarmour with fist with Greyhunters #1 Wolfguard in powerarmour with fist with Greyhunters #2 Wolfguard in terminatorarmour in Termie unit Wolfguard in terminatorarmour in Termie unit Wolfguard in terminatorarmour in Termie unit Wolfguard in terminatorarmour in Termie unit The question is... Can that remaining unit of four terminators be equiped with 2 heavy weapons as the unit is actually 7 men strong? Seems right but feels wrong. ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/187400-terminator-heavy-weapons/ Share on other sites
Grey Mage
You have to fill the unit to 10 to get the second heavy weapon in their. No rounding up, since it doesnt say so. Sadly.... And no, you dont have to be part of the unit- because wargear is purchased before they are attached and become members of the various packs, thus at the time of purchase you have the correct number of wolf gaurd and any subsequent changes because of assignments matter not at all. After all, if you took a casualty, youd then have 9 WG and you wouldnt lose the heavy weapon eh? So your partially right- that 4 strong TDA unit can have 1 heavy weapon. PKAwolf
I would like some further input from the community about this question. My situation pertains to a Logans Heros list. There are 10 WG split into a troop choice of 3 and another of 7. Is it jinky to put both heavy weapons in the squad of 3? The overall ratio is meet, but the squad is split meet the 2 troop choices, so the question is; does the 'every fifth model' rule apply strictly within the limits of a singular squad or to Wolf Guard all totaled? Ullr Direfang
the Wolf guard unit total..... umm.... only problem i see is that i don't think you can split them into two units. with Logan, WG are troops, you can have 6 packs of 10 WG each having 2 heavies. AdeptusDavidus
The overall ratio is meet, but the squad is split meet the 2 troop choices, so the question is; does the 'every fifth model' rule apply strictly within the limits of a singular squad or to Wolf Guard all totaled? Because the rule is worded, "for ever five models in the squad" (emphasis mine, obviously), that wouldn't work. You can't buy a Wolf Guard squad, then break it into smaller squads. Now, if you were going to pick up five or ten WG, and pick up all the heavy weapons you wanted, you absolutely CAN attach one of your heavy-weapons WG to another squad - a footmobile Grey Hunters pack could probably benefit from a Cyclone-totin' WGPL. This is possible because WGPLs are purchased as members of the Wolf Guard squad, and then later broken off as pack leaders.
