I need heavy support!

The list im thinking of in my head has no tank busting goodness, basically im getting two battleforces,some wolf guard for christmas, and im going to bitz order a wolf lord to have twin LC's.

What i need help with is how out of the models i have create a squad of decent tank busting abilities.

Either should i make a squad of 5 long fangs, if so with what heavy weapon, or is a 10 man squad of scouts with a meltagun and meltabombs be efficient?

 

Also, what would be the best way to equip my termis with?

Well if you want to bust tanks Cyclone Launchers aren't bad. Scouts with a Melta Gun and some Plasma Pistols are also effective at taking out tanks.

 

Drop Podding packs of Grey Hunters with 2 Melta Guns and a Power Fist aren't bad for taking on armor either.

For your Terminators I'd suggest a Cyclone if you can get hold of one (good call Vash!), you might be able to trade with someone, if not then an assault cannon is a good tool to use as well.

 

I'd determine whether you want a combat squad or more of a shooting unit.

 

My suggestions:

Shooting

 

Assault Cannon/Cyclone Missile Launcher

2/4 Combi-Weapons, melta is good

1 Chainfist on a non heavy WG (spread the cost)

Power Weapons or Wolf Claws if you can spend the points

Perhaps a powerfist to help with high toughness

 

Assault

Cyclone Missile Launcher

3/4 Sets of Wolf Claws (including CML WG)

1/2 Thunder Hammer/Storm Shields

 

With regards to Long Fangs or scouts it's variable, the Long Fangs are more reliable, being available often from first turn whereas scouts are more random, if you want to tank hunt I'd suggest smaller packs of five men with meltabombs and meltagun

 

4 Missile Launchers and a Lascannon is a Long Fang pack is good
