Gaz1858
Hi guys, THis shouldnt take long but what LOS does a walker have. I seem to remember a dreadnought pic in a rulebook (not sure if its the current one but i couldnt find it) that showed a Dreadnought with a 180 degree arc of fire. essentially to the left and right and straight ahead anything can be targeted. Am i right? If so where in the rulebook is this? The reason i bring it up is i recently played a game where i immobilised my opponents dreadnought. He then tried to target a unit behind him eseentially using the rules for Sponson weapons. Bobman
I think it's 45 degrees actually. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/187508-walker-los-and-arm-los/#findComment-2218381 Share on other sites
Thantoes
I think it's 45 degrees actually. Sadly I have to agree with this. I was looking at the rule last night and a walkers weapon fires in a 45 degree arc The pic you are remembering came out of the 4th ed rule book Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/187508-walker-los-and-arm-los/#findComment-2218395 Share on other sites
Gaz1858
Ah ok so each weapon has a 45 degree arc of fire. So an immobilised dread is treated as being unable to swivel its torso and each weapon can fire at that angle. All sound good? igotsmeakabob!!
Aren't (most) walkers on bases? Don't you measure from the base, not the weapon? Gaz1858
Well LOS for a vehicle is done from the Weapons, are walkers in the same category in this respect? Kronk
Aren't (most) walkers on bases? Don't you measure from the base, not the weapon? Vehicles measure their shots from the weapon. avatar8481
Don't walkers, (like infantry) have a 360 line of sight? immobilized just means can't move, not that they lose their LoS? Seahawk
No, they only have 45 degree hull mounted weapons. However, they can spin in the shooting phase to represent their superior agility. When immobilized they cannot spin either. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/187508-walker-los-and-arm-los/#findComment-2219548 Share on other sites
