Quick question about color.

Hello wolves. Im in a search of knowledge about your glorious chapter. My question today is does each Great Company have a slightly different color scheme? Like I noticed Ragnars company is light ice blue with yellow pauldrons and im guessing I saw wolves from a different company that were grey with red pauldrons. I ask you guys as I have not yet looked at the new dex and have not read the books yet even though im trying to hunt down the omnibus. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks, Lacerus

Each great company has it's own color/symbol for the left pauldron. Some has the same color but with a different symbol. But the armor is all the same color fluff wise. But a lot of people paint their minis a lot of different colors of grey. Pre Heresy the wolves were more of a normal grey. Post Heresy they have gone to more of a blue/grey color scheme.

'eavy metal paint all of the wolves in the same colour scheme, and accroding to the new codex the shoulder pad has a different coloured insert depending on who the wolf lord is.

very often you will see that they ragnar painted lighter tones than other space wolves, this isn't a different colour scheme for his company, merely a way of making him stand out on the table.

The stuff above is true. Each company has their own left pauldron, and each squad in that company has their own right pauldron.

As far as armor colors usually a blue-grey or grey is accepted. People like to debate that my grey colored space wolves are preheresy. I say no, we are post heresy and my wolf lord chooses to wear grey! I truly do believe that it is up to the Great Company's Wolf Lord.

Funny story, last night in my American Sign Language class I was taking a test. We had to name the person wearing grey and blue shirt on. Of the individuals (harold, the 70 year old retireee) shirt, half the people thought it was blue (like me) and the other half thought grey (must be colorblind, even tho most of em were girls). But in reality it looked like the blend of colors GW used to paint the space wolves in this edition's codex. I thought it was ironic that we were arguing if it was grey or blue. Seemed like something we would do here or at a LGS.
