Grey Hunters are 100% more effective in DPs- they can rapid fire, gaining twice the shots at a better BS with more options for special ranged weapons. Then, they lose no attacks if the enemy assaults them.

Bloodclaws drop down, and assuming you gave them a leash so they can fire at all they get half, or less, shots that the GHs do at a worse BS with only one special weapon included at most. On top of that they gain no realy bonus over GHs on the counterattack, and likely will not get off their own assault with enough numbers to make it count.

If you DP, the ration of GHs to BCs should be no less than 4:1.

IMO Hunters, definitely. They are better at taking charge and do not loose potential attacks when countercharging (BC will loose 1 attack, because Berzerk charge won't apply). BC will stand for one round and take punishment - maybe they could try to shoot somebody with bolt pistols, and then their Headstrong rule could be easily tricked and manipulated by cunning opponent. BC are for charging and DP units will lack that for one turn. BC are best when with Wolf Priest and maybe WG leader, they are good objective takers and sitters, especially when their numbers are 14 + WG + WP :P.

Heres what I was thinking Army list wise

Ragnar BlackMane 240

Rune Priest-Saga of the beastslayer,Wolftooth neckless,Chooser of the slain,Tempest Wrath,Jawas of the world wolf,Plasma Pistol,Master of Runes 190

4 Wolf guard-2 armed with thunderhammer/stormshield,2 armed with 2 sets of wolf claws,terminator armour 222 Drop Pod=35

1 Wold guard-Frost axe,Storm bolter 36

9 grey Hunters-1 meltagun,Power Fist,Mark of wulfen, 180

Drop Pod 35

9 grey hunters-1 meltagun,Power Fist,Mark of wulfen 180

Drop Pod 35

10 Grey Hunters,2 flamers,Wulf standard,Power Fist ,Mark of the wulfen 200

Drop Pod 35

10 Grey Hunters,2 Flamers,Wolf Standard,Power Fist,Mark of the wulfen 200

Drop Pod 35

2 Land Speeders-Multi-meltas

1743

Drop the Marks of the WUlfen on your 9 strong squads, get your WG a Cyclone or AC.

Dont give the FA WG a stormbolter- wastes a perfectly good attack.

Give your Rune Priest a WTT, and your FB WG a Meltabomb.

Puts you at 1748.

I think Grey Mage's advice here is perfect. Drop podding is Grey Hunter territory.
