sword brethren
nice paint jobs, the defiler is looking great, very chaos :) Iain. another Iain spelled correctly ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/187568-typewriters-alpha-legion-project/page/6/#findComment-2591815 Share on other sites
Quixus
Awesome. Could you put a marine next to it for a scale. From the photos I couldn't quite make out if it's a dreadnought or defiler. I'm guessing it's the latter though (from the assortment of weapons). Typewriter
Thanks guys! :P It is indeed a defiler, as requested, a scale comparison: http://i280.photobucket.com/albums/kk194/Aggesbukkit/DSCN1253.jpg Lighting is horrible, but I mostly blame lack of sunlight... EPK
Very striking! So much for cover saves, it has to be roughly twice as tall as a normal one, right? Typewriter
Thanks! :) EPK: Well, it might be able to hide behind tall solid towers  Not sure how tall a regular one is but they're at least 1.5 times as tall. Twice as tall as a dread, I think. Natanael: Yeah, kinda big :P Ain't aiming for any tournies so I might be fine ;) Göteborg, spelar på Wizard-Games då och då. MagicMan
I think with some sort of snake tail, this guy would have been outstanding. Not a fan of the legs. But still, great work. Typewriter
MagicMan, do you mean a snake tail similar to the one Fulgrim is usually depicted with? Not really a fan of the legs either, but I went with them in the end and called it a learning experience since the whole model is my first with that amount of GS. Oh, and thanks guys! MagicMan
Im not sure, i mean from the waist down, a big coiled up snake tail. Sort of like the Tyranid Trygon, if that makes sense? But its good GS work anyway. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/187568-typewriters-alpha-legion-project/page/6/#findComment-2610606 Share on other sites
Typewriter
Yeah, that's what I thought. It had crossed my mind but I wanted to try my hand at legs, it's not impossible that something similar will get made at a later date though. I'm still trying to get at good grip on how to use GS properly, so thanks :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/187568-typewriters-alpha-legion-project/page/6/#findComment-2611141 Share on other sites
Typewriter
Back after quite a long while with some newly painted DP's! http://i280.photobucket.com/albums/kk194/Aggesbukkit/DSCN1326.jpg http://i280.photobucket.com/albums/kk194/Aggesbukkit/DSCN1304.jpg http://i280.photobucket.com/albums/kk194/Aggesbukkit/DSCN1310.jpg http://i280.photobucket.com/albums/kk194/Aggesbukkit/DSCN1312.jpg http://i280.photobucket.com/albums/kk194/Aggesbukkit/DSCN1314.jpg http://i280.photobucket.com/albums/kk194/Aggesbukkit/DSCN1317.jpg http://i280.photobucket.com/albums/kk194/Aggesbukkit/DSCN1318.jpg http://i280.photobucket.com/albums/kk194/Aggesbukkit/DSCN1323.jpg http://i280.photobucket.com/albums/kk194/Aggesbukkit/DSCN1330.jpg http://i280.photobucket.com/albums/kk194/Aggesbukkit/DSCN1332.jpg http://i280.photobucket.com/albums/kk194/Aggesbukkit/DSCN1338.jpg http://i280.photobucket.com/albums/kk194/Aggesbukkit/DSCN1343.jpg There we are, three DP's. Typewriter
Thanks! Nope, I'm not a tourney guy. I'm one of the guys in charge of Battlefleet Gothic on the same floor though, so I might be convinced to bring some of my creations around :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/187568-typewriters-alpha-legion-project/page/6/#findComment-2660210 Share on other sites
Natanael
Ah, alright. Maybe you'll be able to see my AL then, if I get them ready in time. True scale all the way. And btw, that last DP is a beast. Not really AL in my book, but mighty cool. - Natanael Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/187568-typewriters-alpha-legion-project/page/6/#findComment-2660332 Share on other sites

Typewriter
Natanael: I usually check out the 40k tables a couple of times each con to see if there's any nice paintjobs or cool conversions so I hope you finish your AL in time :D And about the last DP, yeah he's kinda my favourite of the mini-walkers as well. Didn't really aim for anything other than getting some modeling ideas out of my head :D Corporal_Chaos: Thanks! I think you'll be happy to know that I've got a couple of chaos modeling projects lying around just waiting for me to start working on, including a sorcerer and a new group of Chosen (some of them truescaled!). Typewriter
And now, after much silence, a new model! http://i280.photobucket.com/albums/kk194/Aggesbukkit/DSCN1400.jpg http://i280.photobucket.com/albums/kk194/Aggesbukkit/DSCN1406.jpg http://i280.photobucket.com/albums/kk194/Aggesbukkit/DSCN1407.jpg http://i280.photobucket.com/albums/kk194/Aggesbukkit/DSCN1415.jpg And the mandatory size comparison shot: http://i280.photobucket.com/albums/kk194/Aggesbukkit/DSCN1424.jpg I intend to use him as a Chosen Champ with PF for my planned 10-man CC-Chosen squad, but from his stature and overall detail he might as well be used as a Lord. Next up is a Sorcerer, mostly due to the HQ model competition at The Serpent's Lair. Natanael
I think you have to use him as a Lord, since he is a lot bigger then the regular marines. Nice work, however. Looking forward so seeing him painted. We'll see if I can best you with my own HQ over at the Serpents Lair. - Natanael Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/187568-typewriters-alpha-legion-project/page/6/#findComment-2747691 Share on other sites
Quixus
The model looks really good, except for the barrel extension on the Stormbolter. It's only one barrel for a double barreled weapon. Or is the ranged weapon supposed to be something else? Typewriter
Quixus: The stormbolter is supposed to be a regular bolter, I thought about giving him a combi-weapon but it didn't fit into the loadout I'm planning. I might add some GS to the barrel to smooth the transition, though. Natanael: He's so big 'cause he's the champ! :) I plan on making some of the other Chosen bigger as well so he doesn't feel alone, but they will be based on regular marine legs, not termie ones. Also, may the best man win in that competition ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/187568-typewriters-alpha-legion-project/page/6/#findComment-2747897 Share on other sites
Excessus
heh, well I'll enter the HQ contest as well, but I have no illusions of winning anything with my crude painting skillz! :D Your champ is very nicelooking Typewriter, I'm looking forward to your sorcerer! :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/187568-typewriters-alpha-legion-project/page/6/#findComment-2747973 Share on other sites
