Niiai
Hi, I just finished my last game and I think I fielded to few units so i could not spread them out enough. I am not gonne do a battle report, it was not that interesting but my oponent had 1 hive tyrant with 2 guards 40 endles numbers of the little scutlers with pistol 9 warriors, 6 with death spitters and 3 acid-something (anti tank) I had Wolf priest, wolf guard TDA CM Hammer, 6 GH with melta DP 10 GH 2xplasma gun 1xpowerfist DP 5 GH flamer 1 wolf guard with storm bolter razorback 5 scouts (mellee) PW Melta, wolf guard CM PF 6 Long fangs 2 HB 3RL 1 Lone Wolf, TDA powerfist 2 wolfs, He, started and advanced along the whole line of the board. Razor back and plasma gun DP land left and start shoting. Lone wolf goes mid, long fangs hang back and shoot everythin (little cover to put them back, so I just stuck them back) He tryes tp mess up my stuff with his tyrant (who is left) and my DP and scouts arive to the right and by the 3rd turn, and after a satified round all of his warriors are dead, his endles number units start to fall back and get generaly killed. My Lone wolf and my last 4 plasma GH unit still lives. His turn he kills my left flank exept my razor back, and then he hides behind a building to keep synapse. My turn, my razor back kills his tyrant, and I blow up loads of his endles numbers, but he still have some on the objective close to him. Start of turn 5, the game ends. He has only his endles numbers (about 20 of them in the table.) and I had to post my secnond DP GH unit stand in an objective. His tactic sucked (he tryed it out and we both agreed) and my tactic was OK, but, here is the important thing, all my points vent into GH and that is no good when it comes to hold objectives. I need a smal GH unit that can hold objective and not tie down all my points in standing still. DP attack rocks though, so that was cool. My lone wolf realy did not have anything to do in this game, and the scouts where also bad. The long fangs completly rocked! I think next time I need to bring more bigger guns, less GH (and split them off into groups of 5) while the rest of my army does the dirty work. Also, I wasted 100 points in my hero since he was in the DP and the object sat the whole game. And long fangs rock! Heavy bolters are also very good, espesialy mobiles ones, like the Razor back. Sorry for typos. It is not a battle report, it's a recap. (You don't want a battlereport from a dyslextian from a farly unprofesjonal game, although it was gritty and funn!) Grey Mage
Get rid of the DP GH style units in these 750ish games- unless your going all DP its kind of a waste you now? Instead you should have them on the board from turn one, firing away at your enemies. But against nidz- dont deploy things in reserves, just shoot them and shoot them and shoot them, when they hit you in assault just try to hit them back as hard as you can. Its alot like fighting orks, just with biguns right in the front *like that hive tyrant*. Niiai
It was a 1000 points game. :-) But yes...I see your point. The drops pods are cool because the enemy do not know where they strike, but it would perhaps be better with some TDA with heavy flamers and combi flamers, to completly wipe out big scores of units. I liked the (Lone wolf) but perhaps I should go for a dread in a pod instead. I like the ideas of pods, but right now my grey hunters tryed to do all the heavy lifting, something my longfangs did mutch easier. I need to up the heavy sport section. Longs fangs are so cheap but I coould realy need some tanks in my army. And just one tanks is not that good, so I would need several. Prosedragon
I haven't played against without number things in a while, but you don't want to killthem first turn do you? Then they just come back and manage to get back in the fight. Niiai
I did not kill them, I killed the warriors. :-) I killed a LOTT of the little buggers as well, but it was not enough.
