Dezartfox Posted January 3, 2010 Author Share Posted January 3, 2010 They don't actually take that long, once the base coat is one (Iyanden darksun and then Badab black) it takes about an hour and a half per terminator. In the last two weeks I've managed to paint 2 dreads, a Chaplain and a full squad. Also that tutorial is not how I do it, page 4 is more similar, rest is nothing to do with the glow though. I hate to sound like a total DB because I definitely think your painting skills are otherwise clean and awesome! But why does the green glow seem so over-powering? Coated the dirt with thinned Bestial Brown, then washed that with Devlan mud. Next up was a drybrush of Bestial brown, then Khaki, then Bleached bone. The stones were simply drybrushed codex grey (They received the devlan mud wash too earlier), then drybrushed with bleached bone and finally the whole thing lightly with white. The bones were drybrushed bleached bone, then white, then a wash of Devlan mud, and whilst wet was rubbed off the top of the skull. I did 18 40mm and 2 60mm bases all in one big batch to keep consistency between them, helps the force look unified I find. Excellent bases which look fantastic with a bit of paint slapped on! As I mentioned in emails between us Turbosnake, I will deal with them once my University projects are handed in after the 11th May. Right now you're just causing unnecessary pressure on myself.
