Skyhawk
This topic came up recently as my friend is inducting several INQ units into his Ultramarines army: - Can a "1500+" special character like Coteaz or Karamazov be inducted via the Allies section as a HQ choice? Uncle Mel
no, for example, 1500 pts of daemonhunters are needed for stern, that means excluding inducted troops. In your case it's even simpler since the army fielded is neither DH nor WH so neither character can be used. wizard12
don't see why not. It makes good sence fluff wise as long as it's not celestine or stern on their own. That would just be strange. Karamazov would most likly need a squad of Inquisitorial storm troops to make him fit at first glance but Cortez and his retinue would fit instantly into an army fluff. So if I was going to induct them I'd acompany them with Celestine - seraphims Stern - Terminator retiune karamazov - a few Inquisitorial storm troops Cortez - retinue I would say add those if your going for a plug in and fluff army but rule wise it's all good edit: ah, don't listen to me, Uncle Mels right not me. GTang
Same thing for WH. WH special characters are only for Witch Hunters armies of 1,500 points of more. They can't be allied into another force. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/187648-allied-inquisition-characters/#findComment-2220418 Share on other sites

a-nesuto
funny i was about to ask the same question. no, for example, 1500 pts of daemonhunters are needed for stern, that means excluding inducted troops. In your case it's even simpler since the army fielded is neither DH nor WH so neither character can be used. Mel so my 1500 point Karamazov army (about 750p WH, 750p IG) would be illegal?? If your main army was WH with Inducted guards then I see no problem. Afaik you can only take special characters from your main army. If your main army was IG with allied WH then it would not work. It is kind of strange though because if you run a WH army and induct IG you may take a fiew special characters. If Im wrong then please correct me. If you induct an IG platoon you can replace the platoon commander with Captain Alrahem or Commander Chenkov. If you take Rough Riders you can add Mogul Kamir.
